how u play this?

We are experiencing issues with our current implementation of Steam Cloud Saves. Not only doesn't it work (it won't sync the savefiles), it is actually known to delete them. We are working on a fix, but haven't been successful so far. For now: please disable Steam Cloud Saves for Unexplored. This is what made me stop playing the game years ago as this has happened with other runs, and I see that this issue still hasn't been fixed; there are no stairs going anywhere lower than this and I've tried every staircase that I could see. Throughout the entire run, I only found one Descend scroll (no shopkeepers sold any) that I already used earlier because I thought I was stuck at that time, but frankly, having to rely on a single scroll for such a critical part of the game is really bad progra...
