Problems with Vivox - in-game voice
We are having problems with the plugin, so please have patience while we sort the issue out.

Here are a few steps you can try in the meantime:

Fixing Vivox Voice Files

1. Close Steam and Foxhole
2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Foxhole\War\Plugins\VivoxCoreUE4Plugin\Source\ThirdParty
3. Delete VivoxCoreLibrary
4. Reopen Steam, and verify the game files.
5. Restart your computer.

Fixing issues with SIP ALG

What is SIP ALG?

SIP ALG is a protocol used by routers to modify packet headers to send traffic to Public Branch Exchanges (PBX systems) for VoIP traffic. PBXs are used to make calls and to route calls.

Why would this create an issue?
SIP ALG will change the location the VoIP or SIP traffic ends up. Causing dropped packets and possible issues with connecting to VoIP servers. VoIP needs a direct path to the servers without any translations or modification.

Solution:
One way to check if you have SIP ALG turned on is by running this tool:
https://support.ringlogix.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/167/38/sip-alg-detector
This tool is not guaranteed to find if you are having SIP ALG issues but it could make for an easier diagnostic. Another thing worth checking is if your router has it turned on (Usually found in the firewall or Application Layer Gateway (ALG) settings)

If you are having problems as well please feel free to leave a message here. It would also help a lot if you could leave us a copy/paste of your dxdiag.

How to get your dxdiag

From the Windows desktop, press the Windows key and the R key to open the Run window.
In the "Open:" field of the Run window, type "dxdiag". ...
In the DirectX Diagnostic Tool window, click the "Save All Information" button.
In the "Save As" window, the DirectX information will be saved as a text (.TXT) file.

Special thanks to users Icanari and [27thFRC]Datnicka for publishing these steps.

Voice chat does not work in-game. I can't hear others and they can't hear me. Tried the fixes suggested here and tried reconnecting in-game. Did not help.

I also have this problem, but finally solved.I found my Kaspersky's firewall block Foxhole's data transfer and receive.Maybe you can turn off you firewall or adding Foxhole to trust app.
I hope this can help you.

For me, voice chat is garbled. It sounds as if it is being switched on and off so I hear only a snippet every second.

It worked perfectly until the update a few months back that contained the motorboats (I don't know the update number.) It has not worked since, and I tried deleting and validating the Vivox files.

Alot of voice packets are being lots resulting in cut out voices.
Was no problem until a couple of updates back sadly.

No matter what I do the voice chat doesn't work. I can't hear anyone around me let alone talk to anyone else.

Almost at a year and still no fix, having to do the delete the voice file thing every day now.
Essedus Dec 19, 2019 @ 12:05pm
I've uninstalled the game, completely deleted the foxhole folder, completely disabled my firewall, no antivirus running, updated drivers, set ports wide open.

I have done damn near everything that I can think of, and nothing works. It is unbelievably discouraging. Being unable to verbally communicate or hear anyone around me is very detrimental to gameplay.

If you cant get it to work right, can we please look into having it replaced entirely?

Now foxhole will cause my entire microphone to stop responding on my PC when i play. it will work for a short time after a restart of pc / game. then after a few mins my mic stops working, and even in windows will show it enabled but no input in windows sound controls. no clue whats going on.

Voice sound is lagging and chopped-off, makes barely possible to understand what they saying.

I just tried again, and still this problem remains. It is coming up on a year now. Too bad.

Set the DNS to Google's one 8.8.8.8 and alt as 8.8.4.4 This fixed it immediately for me.

i have spent hours searching and trying fixes for voice chat. the worst part is, it works jolly good for about 5-10 minutes, then suddenly i cannot hear anyone or speak. i can go straight to voice settings, while muted, and soundtest my mic through steam. ive tried removing exclusive control on windows, i set my mic as default in windows, ive tested and retested my mic on steam, ive turned off audio enhancements, ive allowed windows to let apps use my mic, ive allowed steam to record on my mic... im running out of reasons this shouldnt work.

please, i love this game and community... i really dont understand whats wrong!:steamsad:

It will work for about 5 minutes. then it stops on my end. Ive tried EVERY OPTION. Really really really sucks that you can't play a game where Voip is essential and can't.

Still not working. I have to reconnect every few minutes just to talk to people. Halfway through a firefight NO VOIP on my side. I can hear everyone else, But nothing from me until I hit Cancel, navigate to voice, hit reconnect and half the time I died. Ive tried resetting everything and re-installing the game. tried All of the suggestions in the discussions with no solution.
