Do clans still ruin games?

I am new and joined a clan called FMAT. They teach ANYONE who wants to learn and ALL they do is create infrastructure and materials/vehicles for the public to use! They're kind and let you do what you want to do. SOME clans are dogsh*t BUT I believe you can join a nice clan like FMAT and have a great time!

If you want to play this game for logistics, YES. It's terrible. You will be shot for mining nodes, come back online to your entire base gone, and a lot more. Just buy Factorio or Satisfactory.

If you want to play this game for infantry, not really, but I've been team killed by clan members for digging trenches or using emplacements.

If you want to play this game for vehicle combat, such as tanks and boats, not really. It's almost impossible to get a ship and hard to get a tank solo, but this is more a problem with the way the game is designed than clans.

ive had 3 bad clanman interactions in over 1000 hours of play. so i cant say there ruining anything really.

ive only been in a clan the last 300ish hours of game play and i have no complaints. its less of a clanman bad then it is there are just jerks that ruins it for a few people.

i love to hate this game but its literally the amazing community in game that brings me back after each break i take.

Recently bought the game and can tell you ive been having a blast. I joined the losing faction near the end of the war but that didnt stop the game from being enjoyable. In my experience I can see why it woulndt be appealing to some, as most people nowadays want a Main character experience, but I can assure you that if you enjoy stategy and looking a the bigger picture, the logicstics of war, etc there is no similar experience, if you try it and enjoy it it might become one of your favorites. Im personallyLooking forward to start a new war from scratch. So from a new player wiewpoint I would say its totally worth a Try.

To the OP, it really depends how thick skinned you are at the game, yes sometimes clans can 'ruin' the fun because "oh u cant do that ♥♥♥♥ kind of thing". But the thing is, I only encountered this 1 or two times in my almost 2k hours in the game.

If you're too sensitive about being told what to do, or being hinted at some form of teamwork then this game is not for you.

Also the guy that i quoted doesn't know what his talking about. Regiments and an organized group of people is the only way to win this game. so if you don't like that go play Call of Duty or something the kids play this days.

Pushed through 20-30 more hours, really scoured the land for the good. The game itself spectacular, some bugs, some stupid mechanics, those aren't enough to not bank 200hrs tho. But if you don't want to end yourself due to the playerbase by the time that's elapsed.... this might not be one for you. I made an earnest attempt to review this without just screeching expletives that about sums up the experience.

I feel like this has root in ethos. The camp that can coexist with bad actors has a good time, those of us that aren't built like that can't. And I I think that's core to the whole thing, yea?

tldr - things are never as simple as explained on steam forum, especially regarding this game. complaints rarely detail the actions of the person posting.

please take a moment to read this when you're able:

a lot of people on steam generally don't reveal everything about themselves. sociel disorders and stuff aren't going to work out so well in foxhole, it is a *very* social game. you have to talk and communicate with people properly for the best foxhole experience. (you shouldn't play foxhole when you're not feeling social or impatient or frustrated.)

you should also take serious note here, most of the people who like to narcissistic post as if they are the main character in life, - well... foxhole is anathema to that.

Foxhole is basically - the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. the people who usually complain on this forum are in some common factors:

- generally never tell you what *they* did to contribute to the negative situation that arose, because they likely also did bad things to contribute to it, and dont want to be held responsible. (foxhole doesn't work that way, neither does real life)

- while they're busy arguing over tiny things like a single truck, single armored vehicle, a few 100 resources, the enemy is busy making big advances. (arguing over 100 resources, compared to working together and creating a pool of 10,000 resources, leads to a loss.)

- they want the game to be about themselves, and did not properly research foxhole. the people posting foxhole videos generally have large and well organized veteran clans behind them or supporting them. its very rarely as displayed. trust is built through repeated interaction, those cool videos don't happen overnight, or instantly.

So, new players *should* think twice about picking up foxhole. not due to 'toxic boo hoo' more due to 'am i willing to let go of my pride, and not be stubborn so a much larger group of people can potentially have a big shot at destroying a major objective?'

anyway, sorry for TLDR - but theres so much fake bs in this forum, you start to believe it sometimes. the people having a good time with foxhole are playing it and having that good time, they aren't going to come here to brag about it lol.

i have also used snipping tool to google image translate words from russian and mandarin players, and have been successful in forging mutual goodwill, with some small efforts language barriers are overcome.

foxhole, is a place where 'ownership' is more of a 'concept' - and many selfish players help to destroy their team cohesion, and then come to complain about it on the forums. while they argue over middling things, the enemy team makes big strides. all actions contribute to the war, positive or negative. time spent arguing is time spent not scrapping / defending objectives.

You have to give away the mentality gained in other games, to succeed in foxhole.

and now if you'll excuse me, we're about to send a huge convoy of resources to a front that has no idea they're about to become the main character.

If it's one person is having an issue and making is seem general they're usually blowing things out of proportion, when it's three people it may be that a few people that had bad experiences got together and believe that their issues are more general when they actually aren't, when there's a constant and consistent amount of people saying the same thing it may be that there is something wrong.

There is an issue with this game, an example I've seen is high ranking players especially among the big clans believing anything more expensive than a truck made by someone below OCDT is made with stolen materials or is stolen itself. Just the other day I accidentally assisted one of these high ranks believing him over the new player only to later find out that the high ranking player was lying in that he really didn't know where the Rmats came from or had any reason to suspect they where even stolen.

There are players on this game that make it so other people do not want to play and it's a major issue that burns out the majority of people that would be interested in this game otherwise. These are genuine issues that need to be addressed in some way or otherwise they will continue to drag on the game.
