Thieving makes this game's trains unplayable
Hopped into the latest war on the Charlie cluster, REALLY worked hard to get a train line up through the center of the map so we could move supplies easier to the front in deadlands since it's landlocked, figured that'd do the most good for the whole team

trying to get our facility up was hard enough, if i logged off for more then a couple of mins we'd have all our vehicles stolen, even hopped on just in time to stop someone from stealing our small mining train on our flatbed

I'm more worried about my own Team mates then partisans doing damage to my facility
Finally got a big train built, kept it safe for a few days by suspending on a squad locked facility crane but found it gone one day really just made me so burnt out and I don't want to be a helpful team mate anymore.

every reg I've tried to join are more concerned with building awful lines that don't help anyone but makes a few tasks they do slightly more convenient

I really liked having a major impact on our push of the center of the map on Charlie by building this line, but I can't for my own health do this ever again. I've got a life and bills to pay IRL and as the game is currently made there's no way I can have this kind of positive impact again without devoting a week of 12hrs a day game sessions due to needing to rush to get the rail line online before it starts to decay
it's just not healthy

So to whoever stole our tiny squad's train after all our hard work to help this team win the war shipping goods for others to reach the deadlands front, sincerely get bent
you single handily burnt us all out from wanting to play this game for awhile

Join Able and join SIGIL or WUH: the factions actually co-operate to build map-wide rail lines, divide responsibility on who needs to maintain which portions and they look after each other's trains, borrow trains to each other when needed, etc.

Thank you for admitting to Clan-dominated play.

You can join Able, SIGIL or WUH without being in a clan.

Sorry for your problems. Theft of small trains is just pathetic and that really doesn't happen on able shard. I guess I agree, leave charlie server and the gang of noob thieves who don't really care about winning, only what they do for themselves.

It happens on ABLE. I can't say if it happens as much as I've not played on the other two shards but I've seen a bunch of people complain about stolen trains and we had a small Russian regiment try and steal our facility train yesterday. lol

Was it possible that "your" train was being used by other players for the same purpose you used it for?

it's likely 1-3am partisans, back when i played at those times they were rampant.

even clan trains in bunker basses aren't safe from them. i remember 98'th almost lost theirs to 3 guys, i just happened to hear their amphibious APC on a ship scroop run.

they spent a hour scouting, made a quick move but the guys online qrf'd and went to the base.

if we didn't spot them and jump in the base the train would've been lost 100%.

another time in origin i saved a russian clan's train twice, there was a 10m gap in ai coverage at night, parti's got in it twice and let the ai do the work. they tried a third time and succeed, wasn't enough ppl to qrf it.

it's not difficult for parti's to get to the backline, they mostly hug the borders or use open water and bino's.

need to park trains in a 100% covered meta base, even then a barge and jeep with a crew of 3 can get past the meta's in 5min with rpg, trembola, or a light tank.
there are guys that mainly play partisan, try get ahold of them and ask for defensive advice

Build a facility crane and tie it to a power switch. Package train when done for day and put on crane, Turn power switch off after swinging crane toward center of base off obvious visual view from road etc. ALWAYS update your refresh for squad lock via a POWER POLE for all factories etc connected with power. IF uou have resource transfer stations do those manually as not connected by power.
You can also see about damaging the vehicle ( not sure how) and this takes away the ability to package and move it making the thief take more time to fix it. Also its war and people are people expect theft at all times.

read what i wrote 3x and do it. Also able has the same issues as charlie not sure where they think they don't and I know people on both so dont believe that crap for a second.

Small player groups can use basic trucks to harvest scrap without an issue. Bmats win wars.

For a game that's meant to be about cooperation and teamplay there's a lot of greed and personal ownership going on. Some of it being facilitated by the devs themselves. Makes the overall community hard to defend when people put massive amounts of resources into personal storages and just sit on them for weeks. Or squad lock artillary/shell stoarge so no one can use them.

The worst part is the same people with those huge stockpiles are the same people who have the gall to tell you to play logi to get whatever minor thing it is you want. The game's economy is an unironic pyramid scheme. You do the work, and someone else with a bigger clan who can push you around reaps the reward.

Accurate.

Large clans can (and do) also move into an area and simply destroy everything you have made because "they can do it better".

Ultimately, interesting game but the community is well known for being toxic - for a reason.

Has happened too my group for multiple wars now. Once big clan man wants something. They will wipe out everyone to get it. This behavior is sadly a common experience in the backline. I tire of the constant resource field drama produced by bigger clans that act like they own the world. Our experience is far from unique or one faction sided either.

Not gonna lie, when I first heard about the train update, I imagined static railways, with bridges and train stations in major cities connecting the maps in significant ways. And then I realized the railways were player-built and not something you built up like relic bases.

Truly a severe lack of fore-sight with the devs. You cannot really trust major projects like trains to come to fruition without any sort of command structure.

No, this was entirely intentional because of the ever beloved 'Vision'.
