What do you mean by worth ?
Building is nice if you can 1. secure supply lines and 2. find other people to actually help you build with as doing anything alone is tedious.
Frontline fighting is lemming work. Partisan work in the backlines is the source of many a silly story worth telling.
As long as you understand and acknowledge the grind required to make anything happen, the game can be a hoot. If you don't, you'll just hurt yourself trying.
