Population jumped ~153% on release in October. It's dropped ~28% from there and is trending slowly down.[steamcharts.com] At least in America, many people have part of next week off for Thanksgiving.
You could wait for a sale, but I wouldn't. If the population continues to drop they might force a server merge at the end of the current war, and that would probably kill my interest and I have like 180 hours (I got it a little after the 1.0 release).
Charlie has been mostly good experiences (there are 3 servers Able/Baker/Charlie, with Charlie being the newest and therefore the least populated and most new players, although there have been a number of people coming from other servers too), I do not see that carrying over to heavy queues and sweaty regiments.
You can play on all servers, but you cannot play on different factions on the same server after a brief window.
I think I will, I am a cheap ass lmao. I think steam does sales at the end of November so hopefully I just need to wait a couple weeks,
If you think 6 or 8 bucks is so little, why not pay Porta that money so that he can buy the game at full price?
Really, I will never understand people who ridicule others for wanting to save money. You do not know their situation and you are in no position to criticize them.
oh wait.....
I would say if you have spent more then 2-3 hours into researching the game then I would say IMO you have already invested something into the game as of now. If the information you have gathered thus far is something that peeks your interest then I would also say it would be in your best interest to simply buy the game.
At $30 I honestly don't see it going more than $5 - $10 off. If you wait and continue to spend your free time doing anything "Foxhole" related I'd say you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you are in a position to pay the $30 now.
I see your point, but knowing that it's a full loot pvp game where all things are player made, I spent hours reading the about the game via guides before I bought it. This kind of game has a lot of learning curves, the tutorial is bad, the wiki helps a lot, but there are some things you find out by playing.
To even really start at all is a time investment, I'm at something like ~190 hours now, starting with the 1.0 release, and I changed my review from negative to positive in part because knowledge of game mechanics increases what you can do (solo, in my case), but I left all the negative things I wrote first, because most of those still stand, and were valid when written.
it should hit 2k concurrent players in 6-8 weeks... so i would assume foxhole might go on sale around christmas
edit:
oh.. and just so you know... you'll have the best experience if you join a regiment early on... makes the game much more fun, and less frustrating since you got mates who will help you out and explain how everything works
