Claiming land in Foxhole
Today I was building in a tiny area on the map for my very small group of friends so we can have a staging area for what we need at the frontlines. Everything was going well and I managed to build a few vehicle and a tiny bunker with a few fences. When out of no where I told by another who was in a clan that I cannot build there because they have reserved entire huge area for a scoop base that wasn't even constructed yet. I this player I am in a very tiny area and I saw no sign saying that and he had follow him some distance away from where I was to a tiny sign off the road out of sight marking the claim.

Well I told him I am not moving because I already build a lot and my space is tiny. Which apparently he didn't like because he came back with 2 others in his clan trying to get me to move because they had an agreement with another clan to build there. I said to all 3 of them there aren't any game rules about reserving land and that it's the clans that are ruining this game for other players especially when they are creating false rules. It's also these bad clans that are driving players away from this game.

join their clan and help them build for a the better of your faction, they already told you they had a mutual agreement with another clan and you got shown the claim sign. you now stuck your tiny plot of land in the middle of somebody elses and impacted their plans which will affect your entire faction later on.

be productive and go join them and offer extra hands so you get to build they get extra hands everyone wins

I am already in clan with my friends and we are new here. So how about letting us a be on own and you clans learn the share a bit first. Small clans working together and learning to help each other is better then one massive clan. Because in a big massive clan tend to have some members being treated poorly and tend to learn little. Where as members in a small clan tend to learn a lot more and understand the values of working together for a common goal.

its a team game why do you insist on doing things on your own?

Just help them build it or go build somewhere else. Believe me there is always somewhere else that needs to be built. But If you're that determined to build on that very particular spot just help them build it.

Never bow down to clans. All land belong to entire faction, and as long as what you build is made for faction benefit, you have all right to build on it, as anyone else, all they discord circlejerk agreement worth less than rotten egg.

I know how it seems, but in the grand scheme of the game, there are lots of pre planned tactics that are not known by solo's or small clans. Depending on where exactly you are, you could unknowingly cause a weak point in the hex's defense, or slow Logi and material flow down the line.

Thats not to say some clans dont throw their weight around or let ego get the better of them, but its usually for the reasons listed above. If they said its for a scroop field, then i assume you built near a salvage spot, and that can be touchy with the heavy hitters. It usually involves train lines, harvest stations, and alot of area to protect it from enemies.

Take a careful look at your Hex, where other BB's are, and how close to the front you are, and plan that way. You can take a piece of land for yourselves, but this is 100% a group effort, so bare that in mind and good luck on your endeavors.

Reading this discussion and seeing people side with clans trying to enforce unwritten rules that the developer probably never intended for is a big warning sign that I could be walking into a toxic community if I buy this game.

The game itself is a neat concept, but I think I'll pass.

Its not so much unwritten rules, but more that most of the players know whats up and how things generally go. Its war 116 so its been around and many players have a firm understanding. To new people its hard to see that at first until you get a few wars under your belt.

Dont let this tired subject from outsiders looking in steer you away from this game. Let the fact that this game will claim your soul and loved ones as you stay up for hours holding a front line, or driving your truck full of goodies to desperate comrades be the reason you dont jump in.

Im a solo guy, through and through, but i understand the teamwork required for the greater good, and you will too.

Note that it's become even worse with every update, i played from pre-alpha, and thing is, every year and update devs give more power to clans, and clans find new way to be as cancerous as possible.

I honestly cannot fathom what a small group of new players would need a dedicated base for, and I'm yet to discover a reason from reading this thread.

Alot of clans are overbuilding.
Diesel power plant + material factory can be rebuild so quickly, it's not worth putting them inside strong defenses.
With the time they spend building and maintaining those extra strong defenses, they could have rebuild it 10+ times, if it gets destroyed at all...
I like how all these reply's are against a person playing the game they paid for
this why you cant get new players
I hope all you Sweat lords get banned someday

this guy here ...
I say report the Clan and its member for being toxic either way
they don't control you. Play the game the way you like. If they make that hard, you report them and you splash it all over reddit also.
These Clan Man Nerds have no power even if they were standing in front of you in real life would you let them tell you what to do?
