Foxhole

Is it worth returning?
Haven't played in 3-4 years now. Miss the game but all the added vehicles, weapons, etc. seem interesting and terrifying both. Would be cool to play with a group from time to time. But curious what you guys think of the game rn.

I'd wait till Nov 18th they are doing a fatty update that is bringing aircraft and infantry overhauls BUT if you wanted to get back into it now just to swipe some of the rust off now would be pretty ideal!

I know, but what is it like now? Atp more content doesn't really sound all that appealing to me anyway. I imagine it makes logistics horrendous with the ridiculous amount of content added since I stopped playing.

Aircraft are coming in 2025, just in case anyone reading misunderstands. Infantry update is coming the 18th.

In the meantime, yall can play HOI4 on the 14th when Gotterdamerung releases. Then, play Foxhole on the 18th and 19th, then play STALKER 2 on the 20th.

Clear your schedules, gentlemen.

Man come on, I was asking how the game is NOW and you're recommending different games.

Last time i checked it was completely overrun by discord cabals with clans claiming resource-fields becoming new normal. And given previos tendencions, i do not expect it get any better sinse them.
You can still try running around in fronline meatgrinder i guess.

Not really, i played from pre-alpha times, and it's was gradual increase of clans influence, slowly year by year. If someone tried to claim resource field few years ago, they would be TKed on sight. But now clans freely claim resource fields and build around them.

Yeah you're right about that. Was a part of the 'big clan' problem myself at the time I guess but I don't recall participating in that or seeing it from memory but have heard about it and seen the bags on the floor from people doing this for sure. I remember one group was stealing all the vehicles and tech parts and 'renting' the vehicles out in exchange for resources and holding the tech parts ransom for some reason. Lots of weird old stories like that. Remember Jade Cove?

You mean that time when, WN if i recall correctly, wanted to use they nuke so hard, they nuked friendly warden troops as they were taking it? Yeah, i remember that story, though was not playing at time.

Honestly to my shame most of thing i remember is either personal or mechanical. From players only one who i can strongly recall from back in pre-alpha time is MarrocanGeneral, best warden i ever seen.

On mechanical stuff, i remember old-mines, which worked on infantry and was very hard to spot, loved making minefields of them, old smokes which was great for sneaking in town, times when infrastructure was neutral so if you sneak in enemy town you could steal stuff, especially before crates were added, i remember sneaking in the city once, Saltbrook, to be precise building myself a truck and driving away, was fun.

Artillery ammo is nearly unlimited currently due to production changes (facilities) and, highly mobile arty platforms like SPG and ships make artillery ubiquitous during all but the smallest of battles. So, if you enjoy playing around perpetual artillery shelling, and spending hours hammering Bmats to repair arty damage, and your delivered logi goods being constantly deleted by artillery vaporizing the bases where you deliver your supplies, then sure, jump right in.

IMO, this once great action/strategy game has devolved into a factorio idler game for spreadsheet nerds, mixed with and artillery spam game, that relies on players just doing rote movements to load/reload arty guns, and drive arty shells and Bmats around to constantly load guns/repair artillery damage. And, this next update is going to make it all 10 times worse. Game is a total disaster right now.

Yeah. A lot of people soured on it when they upped the grind years ago as if you tried REALLY hard you COULD make a difference but at one point it felt like it was impossible to do so.

Haha WNS yeah. Ah I vaguely remember that name. Was very active when I was starting out.

Just Join the war.. This war I've heard ( Nov 18 ) is break war. Learning the ropes again. Join a Regiment to learn new Mechanics. Be as a Faction. Not as a Regiment.
