The most likely "method" would be to automate aerial combat, as has been suggested several times, but the devs have also stated time and again that they do not wish to automate any part of combat: that part of the 'Vision' is that players need to be in direct charge of as many parts as possible.
Having said that: the memes are recently going around, about some things the devs have said during the latest devstream, that could be interpreted as a hint towards an air update. But again: while funny and exciting, I believe it is extremely unlikely that we will get an air update.
Would have to fix the limited zoom-out and visual range first.
It's utterly annoying that in some situations I still need to "work" the camera, like rotating the screen, so I aim down, to see maybe 10 meters beyond the end of my rifle line. A first aid kit has more visual range than some weapons ;D
