Critically wounded soldiers
Hey. Lets be honest: the mechanic of turning CWS to shirts is really bad. Telling you this as a person who played 350+ hours as a medic. No one sees any reason in building a field hospital. And even if someone does it is still bringing about 12-32 shirts during the whole evening. Absolutely not worth of any efforts. I mean building it and taking CWS to it. My idea is: medics are often risking their lives to get dying players out of the battlefield to revive them. Catching the bullets most of the times. So... lets say a person that is being carried away on your shoulder would turn to a critically wounded soldier in case it is shot, instead of just falling to the ground as a dead body?

As someone who generally mains medic, I agree. Its a rarely used mechanic (CW to shirts via field hospital) - and most new players dont know about it until much later. They need to make the whole mechanic a bit more "juicy" for medic players to get engaged with.

There have been times where we had three medic tents running and were on zero shirts stuffing every corpse inside, it worked but barely, It helped we were able to surround the enemy constantly flanking so we could use their corpses instead of them being left over on their ai protected side.

I would like an increase of at least double of how many turn into cws, if you can't push their side and grab their corpses you're losing half of all possible cws.

I would also like the game to be less ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in general, have you noticed when you kill someone or even get killed the corpse can stay for a solid minute and longer while during heavy combat the CWS lasts a matter of seconds, person dies, you run over, corpse literally vanishes. I understand this is a lag thing, but don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do this with the cws, give us at least a fixed 10 seconds at the bare minimum, 15-20, even 30 seconds if you think the servers can handle the handful of cws that do spawn, it's just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to have it despawn in 5 seconds during heavy combat.

Interesting, how did you get your hands on the census data for every Foxhole player?

It takes around 6 CWS for a field hospital to "pay for itself" in terms of the cost. One frontline ambulance can easily, and I mean easily do 6+ an hour. That's 24 shirts an hour (192 bmats worth) for free - no scrooping, no factory, no crating, no back-to-midline logi, no midline to front logi, just pick up a body, dump it in an ambulance and process when you go back.

Gathering CWS is not necessarily a medics job, either - if you don't like to risk yourself and want to be a hiding-in-the-back medic rather than a combat medic, just have low encumbered people bring you the CWS that are frequently in easy, low-risk reach.

I'd say that CWS aren't just about gathering shirts for yourself, but also denying the enemy. Every four shirts you process is four shirts they can't - since you can gather up either side's CWS, why not tip the balance in your favour with a building that cost you only 200 bmats? It won't supply a frontline with shirts, but it sure slows down the effective rate of consumption.

It could be more rewarding, sure, but writing it off and declaring on behalf of the entire community that it is not worth the effort is very narrow minded.

I don't think I've EVER seen one actually in use. The few times I tried to take someone to a field hospital it wouldn't let me submit them. I don't sit on frontlines much anymore though, that was probably on me somehow.

Does CWS still exist? I've been playing medic for about 100 hours and haven't seen one yet...

CWS's are very rare from my expirience, rare enough as to not warrant wasting bmats on a medical tent.
Though if I ever bring my own mats to the hex I do make them just as a larp.
Maybe give it a med. supplies storage or something so medics get a place to look for when they're out of plasma away from a TH or whatever.

I'm dividing my time between logistics and playing a medic. For far to much time. :o So I have one thing to say: Don't dare you touch my field ambulances and critically wounded soldiers!

On a more reasonable note, for all the problems with this gameplay loop, I really enjoy it. Setting up field hospitals, carrying those soldiers, shouting at others to recover that man in front of them. It is enjoying to do this non-shooting thing and still being somewhat useful. It might not be the most efficient thing to do, but it is a part of the game that adds to its atmosphere. If I'm really to rant, it would be about those many players who just run past their actual wounded comrades (or medics that patched them up 5 minutes before) and let them bled to death. ;p

A few things that could be done better:
  • Increade the amount of shirts to 6 or 8. That would make a single CWS more valuable.
  • And/or increase the drop rate of CWS. Either for every kill or those wounded players that bled out.
  • Add a module to bunkers that act as a dressing station. The tents are far to vulnerable to artillery.
  • Allow other vehicles to carry *one* CWS, not just ambulances. It might be controversial balance wise, but dropping a CWS in the back of a Jeep would make transporting them easier.
  • Make hospital tends a plasma generator. A player can opt to 'donate' plasma (one bottle) in exchange for a bit reduction in health. This health could be restore by a medic with bandages.

I like this mechanice and don't want to see it removed.

Depends, in fights with lots of small arms its worth it but the hospital has to be close. and well alot of base building groups don't like the Field hospitals in thier building area. It may not seem helpful but in reality medics are grabbing the shirts and bringing them back to the front. 4 shirts is still better and more efficient then the 20 guys who were blown up and instant killed by one arty shell.

Agreed. The time taken to move criticals back is nearly never worth it, and the ambulances are a nice idea that just fail as too many things blow them up if you have them close enough to actually be useful.

Much better to have a shipping container full of shirts than any number of people using a field hospital. Literally one trip to a factory town will get you more shirts than an entire war of using this lost and unloved mechanic.

every dead body should be able to be recycled
