Logi problem has always been it takes hours to gather and deliver supplies and sometimes you have to drive back. Logi is still a freaking time sink and its even worse cause of Inferno. I actually uninstalled and don't plan to play again. If you play frontline, its not as bad.
The things that actually worry me most are the power-hungry moderators and the rules dictated by the big clans as if there is a mafia in the game (this is just what I saw in the top negative reviews though)
We tried logistics, and it is grindy and extremely boring.
We tried front line fighting, but it's just shoot, be shot, die repeat. No structure, not enjoyable. It's a massive free for all and there are far too many people who take the game WAY too seriously and threaten to get you banned for all sorts of dumb reasons.
We have no interest in going back and playing it again.
edit: 7 hours I've got on the game. I doubt it will ever increase.
both the things you mention really are non issues, or not as bad as some people try and make out.
Grab the game, its worth it sale or not.
What do you mean by moderators? There are no moderators in the game. If you mean the forum moderators: they are the same as elsewhere.
As for "rules dictated by big clans", this rarely happens. If you come into conflict with a group of players, the group of players will come out on top, its simple as. Those negative reviews were written because someone got into a conflict with a clan. It is regrettable, and all conflict should be resolved in a mature manner, but it that is not always the case. But is it a common problem, or should you let it impact your decision to buy the game: my answer would be "no".
Regarding moderators I misunderstood, apparently he was referring to a mass reporting system that was abused.
Anyway yes, as soon as there are discounts this month I think I'll buy it, after all it's been on my wish list for years and frankly I should have taken advantage of the reduced price before 1.0 came out but that's gone now.
I got this game recently and I love the logi.
c & b are communist with some able guys still stuck in their old ways
i'm clanless logi on c, the only time we go after someone is when their base is inactive,
for example: some guy built on a oil field, no problem. however he hasn't done anything with it for 3 days so the entire region got together and demo'd it to make a public gas station
we've even given/received gifts from Chinese clans.
if your going to play just stay out of able, its responsible for most of the tryhard and clan BS
it takes hours to build them, it could be in need of repair, important cargo, anti-tank ahead, etc. guys with 7 hours do a lot more harm than good in vehicles... 1/2 the time crpl's and under get their tank captured, the other 1/2 die with no effect
if you want structure you need to make it, open a flank, make a breakthrough, hold a line, etc.
we need to look at the entire battlefield when fighting and fill any gaps or make a move.
its chaos, can't be commanded or planned we have to learn how to navigate each battle.
Everybody steals your stuff.
This is not a problem if you build and collect for public use.
If you want to try doing it privat project, it can become really tiresome.
Tried so many times, vehicles you actually use and locked, can be taken after a few min.
Resources that has to be made private from refinery. If you misclick your screwed.
Can private stuff, but only for 2 days. Dont play for 3 days? its gone.
Log in every 2 days to refresh the seaport/storage depot to continue to have private storage.
It also tells you ingame, this is not ment for personal storage, tho afaik i hear, everyone does it.
Not everything can be made private. (yes it sounds confusing, it really is)
So all in all, i would not recommend this game, if your used to other games where your used to most stuff are private.
"This game technically is all public and if your not carring a wrench (this games lock pick) at all times, your doing it wrong. Its the masterkey of this game.
Everyone steals yours, so you gotta steal others for balance lol"
""fyi got some sarcasm
Want a base with a project going on? You cant store resources there. Heard a few times ingame, that some stole all there stuff, only to blame it on enemy incursion. Even if defended by AI..
Honestly, for me to enjoy this game, i consider it a full Socialistics game, played by capitalists.
So when ever i collect and refine, i consider it public and add it as such. Sometimes reserve, to build a few small tanks.
I do enjoy driving materials to the frontline, to see people like it, if they get the stuff they need.
So in short.
Want like Ark survival clan base game? i dont recommend.
Want more of a socialistic game, i recommend.
My 2 cent, of 200 hours of gameplay
You probably only have to wait a month till the game goes on sale which is not a lot
This is the 2nd war after inferno for all shards (server clusters) so a lot of people are taking a break and trying out new things
Inferno is not complete yet, some systems don't work correctly (can't destroy train bridges), not all battle tank variants are here, Colonial supertank isn't that good and more.
As someone who bought the game a day before inferno and played mostly facility logistics and artillery, it is a lot of fun and what you want to do depends on well, what you want to do. Some people like being blasted to bits on the frontline and flanking the enemy or infiltrating behind enemy lines while others like to just hit scrappiles with hammers listening to some music.
I myself joined the Wardens and the royal spuds regiment, din't really know where to start so I just asked around and they came forward. It was a lot of fun, they are also part of the Sundial coalition and this war I'm playing with 92nd who are also in the Sundial coalition. Whether you want to play solo or in a regiment is up to you, but I really recommend joining a regiment, there are a lot of them out there and there is at least 1 which allows you to experience the game as you want. Regiments also host operations or events where as many people come online to do a fun offensive.
In the end I'd say buy it on sale, refund it if you think it sucks but you'll probably end up addicted before you can nope out. In the meantime I recommend the war 83 series by Moidawg on Youtube if you want the feeling of what you can experience on a frontline.
