res to use for widescreen display?
i quit the game because widescreen resolutions cut part of the top and the bottom of my screen off. obviously that was unacceptable. when i came back to the game i finally figured out how to set my resolution custom in windows 10 and then make the screen display at a res that fits into my widescreen tv like a standard resolution. what i ended up with is 1680x1050. so now the picture is a square in the middle of my widescreen tv....and clearly i can see further at the top and bottom. so now i just read another post about someone who says to set the res to 1440x1440 to make the screen an even box which will give the farthest view without using "portrait view" or whatever its called to be able to not be at a disadvantage to someone on a standard res monitor. all new monitors basically are widescreen. has the game been updated to address this long standing issue or do i still need to tinker with it now that ive come back to the game? can someone advise me on this without recommending i use "portrait view" or whatever that flips the screen around. im not going to do that because i use my pc for other things and not going to deal with all that difficulty of switching it constantly. advice anyone on the best res to set in your desktop display settings if you have a widescreen monitor or tv like i do? im not asking for the res to use in the game itself because if the desktop res isnt correct it will still be messed up and part of it cutoff.

I do not understand why the game is set up this way..I see further side to side ( wide screen ) and have issues being hit and killed from enemies I can not see straight ahead..this seems to be totally screwed up on the developers part, unless it is intended to give those who know the correct setting an unfair advantage!

It's on our Early Access TODO list to have better support for different resolutions and aspect ratios. We hope to implement better support for this in the coming updates as the current support is unacceptable.

For now, the best way to handle this is to switch to fullscreen mode in options and set to a 16:9 aspect ratio resolution like 1920x1080 or 2560x1440.

i hate corner aiming and having to rotate my screen to look around to aim at things. its not a good system and it has ruined my middle mouse button. reeeeeeeeeeee

saying that its not a good system is saying it mildly. i quit the game eventually as i was tired of being shot constantly by corner snipers and if i didnt do the same thing there was no way to compete. having to rotate the screen all the time to look for people that might be able to see you while you cant see them is horrible. its a shame because the game is good otherwise and i really like the look and design of it. the screen needs to display as a circle or the game needs to be coded to not show people in the corners or something. its too frustrating to deal with that and be required to rotate all the time to avoid getting sniped. being shot by people you cant see is the worst thing about the game by a huge margin. its the only reason i stopped playing. i actually think maybe the best solution would be to make it so you cant rotate the camera to get an advantage. in all the older rts games with isometric cameras and even in mmos with isometric cameras you cant rotate the screen. when you allow that it lets people snipe from corner view. its broken.

i kinda understand what they are trying to do, simulate "tunnel vision" when aiming down the irons, it still irks me none the less
