War endings
So yesterday, I finally get to see how a war ends. That's it? Just a generic white text that comes out of nowhere to tell you the game's over? The wardens still have a bunch of regions left, but the war ends just like that because the game said so? Wouldn't it be more satisfying for the collies to instead take every single region left as the wardens make a desperate last stand in their northern most region Berlin style? This is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ underwhelming.

Trouble is that as our regions grew fewer and fewer, the queues would begin to get worse and worse.
That said, I'm all for it. I would fight the Colonial invaders down to the very last relic base.

I would love if they added steam achievements/badges or something for winning wars or doing something really well. Something should be added as a carrot for participating and/or doing well in a war.

Achievements would only make people more selfish because they would care more about getting achievements than helping the team. Achievements are personal accomplishments, which is something the devs want to avoid for the same reason as to why you don't see your k/d stats.

♥♥♥♥, I forgot about queues. That's going to be a problem, isn't it? We'll have to wait for a server upgrade before we get a glorious last stand.

I'd like to see it go down to the end. I think the only reason that devs do not do this is because it could be abused and purposefully strung on to torture the other team. As it is, enough regions are left so that the losing team would have a fighting chance to make a comeback. Say though that the Colonials had left the Wardens with two regions, maybe one has a refinery and one has a garage, but none with a factory. Then they would basically torture them to only have pistols to shoot and vehicles to run people other with. It basically prevents turning the other team into a zoo. So, as much as I would like to run down the other team to the last town, there is a good chance people would abuse it.

why anyone would like to keep playing in that state of war? if you check steamdb stats most people stopped playing like 1 week ago when there was not turning point for the wardens. it is unnecessary to prolong a war that is already over, wardens don't want to keep playing and colonials neither. In fact I think devs should reduce victory points needed to win to something like 30. However I agree devs need to change that generic white text to something else

Well for one, it would only last several hours. Considering how quickly the last few VPs go in a war, once you get past that point it will go extremely fast. Time isn't really that much of a consideration when you have to wait two days to play again afterwards anyways.

I logged off this war and Colonials still had 4 VPs to go. I got back on 12 hours later and found that the war had been over for many hours. Considering how fast it goes like that, 5 more regions would be nothing to handle. Basically, really, if you're down to like 1/4 of the map you have already lost and are just dragging it out, so why say leaving 5 regions is that much different from leaving 0? There isn't really any.

Sure, queue might be a pain, but if you would have stopped playing after down to 5 regions anyways well in a sense you are just getting more of a chance to play for several more hours.

yea i wish the war wouldive ended by capturing a important point down in the enemy line like capturing the big building like in berlin and putting your flag there to clam the victory.
I didnt even know the war ended.
i played the game in 22 last time and the wardens still had good amount of land.

like someone already said, the problem would be that with few regions the queues to play the game would be too damn long, you would "play" more by waiting to join than actually playing, there's no helping it, its how the game is built.

This already exists, in player stats. There are players who focus solely on one of those stats.

If you're talking about k/d stats, no they don't exist besides global casualties. If you're talking about the war achievements, the ones that pop out white text whenever they're accomplished, that's not what we're talking about. We're talking about Steam achievements, the ones that affect the individual not the team.
