Is it possible to build a small artillery base with 3 people?
I have a regiment who I play with, I joined them yesterday. But I have two more casual friends who I think wont be wanting to join one, so I was wondering if its possible to build a small base with just 3 people?

Depends what you mean by "artillery base."

If you want to build a base with a howitzer battery (fixed artillery pieces with a range of 100-300m), then yes that is well within your abilities with three people. It will probably take you a few hours to a day or so depending on how ambitious you are. Concrete is both expensive to make and time consuming to setup, but if you're willing to settle for a tier 2 base with a few octagon trenches for guns with some improvised shell storage, then you can get rolling pretty quickly. Getting it AI to defend itself with garrison bases will be harder, but still possible. The only problem is that you can't do that *quite* yet because those cannons haven't been unlocked yet. Once you have them though, all you really need to do this is a shovel, a couple flatbeds, the guns themselves and a way to get shells.

Building a Storm Cannon is something else entirely. That generally requires a few days of work to gather the necessary materials, dig out and upgrade the base, dry the concrete, and actually assemble the gun, let alone aim, charge, and load it. All of this assumes that you have the capacity to both design the base, and to get the materials necessary to build the damn thing. I once assisted building what would eventually become a storm cannon base. We had a small regiment that was nearly entirely logi focused, and it still took several days to do (the primary time sinks were designing the base and drying concrete).

That being said, I have seen people make storm cannon batteries (4-6 stormcannons). The Foxhole community has an insane level of dedication.

TLDR: A howitzer base is very possible (and helpful if well placed!), a Stormcannon base will likely require prep for a fair portion of the war before its unlocked, and will require a couple days of consistent effort before all the pieces are in place.

A base with storm cannons require a lot of work and you will need to dedicate a ton of hours to make and maintain those storm cannons. A large regiment can have storm cannons with ease because they have dedicated builders and logistics that take care of the base. You can build a nice base with only 3 people but the work that you will need to put in to crafting a tier 3 concrete base with storm cannons will be insane. The base will also decay if you and your friends decide to take some days off and forget to put a ton of garrison supplies in to the base. You will also need to grind for storm cannon 300mm ammo which is not fun either without a dedicated logistics team.

Something I should add. There are people who play this game as sappers. They exist to build and repair bases and defenses. I don't understand them, but damn do they do some good work. Find one of those folks, and they can probably give you some tips to ease the workload.

Dumping a mountain of supplies into ANY base is the quickest way to get "aww hell naw"'d by randoms at large. They'll flock to the sweet nectar of bloated resources and strip it bare.

The war is online 24/7, and base building is a 24/7 effort. It's really not made for a 3 man group.

Do you mean 150mm artillery? These shouldn't be all that hard. There are bunker bases close to frontlines, or you could just bring your own, make those octagonal shaped trenches, put a gun on them, load the bunker base with shells, and rain hell.
Mortar teams or small vehicles are really your best bet for a good 3-man group. It's low investment, there's plenty of shooting to be done, and at the end of the day you just log off and don't worry about anything.
I'm not sure what exactly you mean with artillery base, but there are 5 types of artillery:

Mortars
80m max range. Can be carried by infantry or is mounted on a vehicle.

120mm/150mm
250-350m max range. Can be picked up by a crane and transported by a flatbed truck.

300mm Storm Cannon
750m max range. Extremely cost and time intensive bunker structure. Can attack neighbouring regions. It's a defensive superweapon.

Rocket Artillery
225-275m max range. Mounted on a vehicle, inaccurate but can fire up to 17 rockets in a few seconds.

Howitzer Garrison
AI controlled bunker structure. Has longer range than most artillery (except Storm Cannons). Automatically attacks enemy artillery if damaged.

what about the city canon who look impressive?
Do you mean the coastal guns? Those are AI controlled and automatically destroy enemy ships and boats in a 200m radius. They only exist in predetermined locations.

is they also shoot amphibious jeep and landing tank ?
is they will not attack anything grounded in their range?
They will attack amphibious vehicles if they are in the water. All vehicles on land are safe.
Coastal guns are typically around seaports and serve to protect these incredibly important logistic structures. As long as your seaport has a coastal gun, rest assured that it will be completely safe from anything less than a full DDay boat invasion.

before considering the most expensive why not learn the basic with the mortar what can be used alone with binocular and truck and outrange any other infantry weapon
their is also the mobile artillery what requiert at least 2 player just for turn and move and another for an ammo truck
their is also truck tracked version of the mortar who still requiert one to 3 player
all this can be used for defending a little forteress and allow to understand the concept
because this super canon hat is so expensive can also being destroyed by a group of 3 commando with demotion pack put inside
defending a base is already not realist at only 3
but a megabunker or 40 part
if even you made it int the rear of the map you will be sad because the war can end without any attack on it if then major city are destroyed

that seems like a nice solution for me, thanks for the tips!! I love mortars and arty and thats the thing mainly for me in this game, although I love doing logistics and battles too.

I mean a small base with artilleries and stock pilled ammo

Do you mean "My own personal parking lot with guns and tanks and ammo"? Then no. Those types of bases are basically partisan outposts. They help the enemy more than anyone else, and it is the faction's duty to actively tear them down to deny partisan access.

As you might guess, this is a HUGE source of conflict between faction members. New player wants their partisan parking lot, veteran player says no, conflict ensues. It's a tale as old as time.

It may be time to learn how storage depots work. You can set up reserved stockpiles at a depot that will hold any type of small item or civilian vehicle. There is a 2 day inactivity timer that gets refreshed by simply adding anything. Military vehicles can not be stored, but here's how you work around that:
- Store the vehicle ingredients today and log out
- Come back the next day fully charged
- pull the ingredients and build the vehicle
- Go nuts
- Give the vehicle away or get blowed up before you log out

In this way, the storage depot acts as your personal private parking lot. Do feel free to share materials and tanks though, that's the best way to make friends!
