There are 3 servers; Able, Baker and Charlie. You need to join the same server as your friends which you choose on the login screen before you press play at top right corner.

There are 2 options when you try to join a ''full'' server, play now and wait. Play now will put you on another server that has no queue time, wait will make you wait if there is a queue. Seems odd that you would not see eachother if you are on the same server since these servers can not be sharded.

I have 3 options:

ABLE
BAKER
CHARLIE

me and my friends, we choose Charlie. And then we choose the colonials, and then we start the game, but i cant see them

F1 button to be able to access the names of everybody in your region.

The starting island has multiple instances. No I don't know why. Deploy to the same location in game, and you'll be able to find eachother. I recommend Morgan's Crossing for your first deployment.
