Fix the bayonet
The bayonet is so broken right now. I can accept the fact it's a one-hit-kill, bayonets are powerful after all, but you shouldn't be able to turn 360 degrees in one go and be able to kill 5 people without a chance to react. Before you say "muh run away", I tried, but the bayonet has the melee range of the TF2 medic's ubersaw.

Considering that you usually charge with a bayonet, it should only be used when you move forward. When you hit with the bayonet, limit the direction to 20 degrees at best and only be able to move forward. You know, like an actual bayonet charge.

I'm on the fence about it personally. I like the idea of it but it's overly efficient, you can basically stand still and spin 360 swiping everyone near which gives the idea that it's more like a katana. It should b a 'thrust action' effect similar to bare hand melee, the current idea that your always charging doesn't make sense.

If you've let some wacko run up to you without these '5 people' blasting him then you deserve to get shanked

"If you can't counter attack an OP weapon, then you deserve to get killed", yeah nice logic.

Also, here's a scenario that includes those 5 people: a partisan spawn camping a relic base with a bayonet. What's next, you're gonna tell me that I deserve to get shanked because I let him inside the relic base, or because I'm unlucky enough to be right next to him when I spawn as he's swinging it around? Your comment is useless and brings nothing to this thread.

I dont know. Bayo is what OP explained but then thats what it supposed to do. Knives are very fast and very agile.
Bayonets shouldn't act as a chainsaw when it's used. If you use a bayonet in real life and want a quick kill, you plunge the rifle forward, stab the target, get the blade out, that's it. You don't just swing it around like it's a ceiling fan and somehow get a killstreak. If Foxhole is going for a military simulator, it needs to get the bayonet part right as well.

Thats a self fulfilling prophecy man hahah

I'll give you that one specific UNCOMMON scenario where you are getting spawn camped and a dude goes on a killing spree. How the ♥♥♥♥ did he get into your relic base is beyond me but lets say it happens.

Every other scenario you have 20m advantage on him. 1 shot and hes slowed down which guarantees another shot if you aren't ape brained.

Are you just sitting and watching these guys run at you? Take a full auto weapon for CQB and watch them be completely useless as they get to the pace of a tortoise after 1 bullet, then subsequently hit with 10 more.

Its seriously a skill issue man. I hate to say it but.

Get good.

I rarely see someone with a byonate only got killed with it twice with the same guy so I hunted his ass down and killed him and then t bagged him cause the wardens do it to me every time when ever I get killed close to them.

I don't mind the way bayonets currently work. The bigger problem is how wonky the gunplay systems are which in turn make it hard to reliably react fast with consistent results - especially when you're getting rushed. Revolvers and shotguns used to be horrendous to play against in the past since they basically functioned like bayonets with a range advantage which clearly highlighted the problem but now that they're changed there's only the bayonet left which obfuscates the issue(s).

I don't see the problem with bayonets. When I see players charging me I also see 10 players shooting full auto at him. I think you got outplayed.

nothing wrong with them, sometimes I kill people sometimes I get shot before killing them.

Bayonets are high risk, high reward. Melee kills are extremely fast and don't require the slow process of aiming. It's pretty cool actually, if baddies are hiding in a safe house just sneak around the wall and charge in with bayonets.

In all fairness, if five guys are getting ganked by a single guy with a bayonet 360°-ing that speaks more about poor squad spacing than OP gun knives

I don't think bayonets work like some people seem to think they work.

Bayonets are verry skilled weapons. 3 of 5 times you try to get into a trench or something you die.. but if it works,, its really great. Bayo itself isnt OP. But someone who fough 500 hrs with the fking bayo is op
