How to take a small amount from the refinery?

How do I take say only 50 units of a material rather than the whole inventory? I have been splitting stacks of other material like Bmats and taking one stack of say refined material (from components). I would like only to tak 50 components.

You need to fill all the other slots of whatever you're using to pull materials. So if a truck, put something that isn't rmats (I assume you mean rmats and not components) in all but 3 slots. If you leave 3 empty spaces and do "Retrieve as crates", that will pull 60 rmats in crate form that you can then unpack into rmats to build with.

The smallest amount of refined materials is 20 and you need to right-click on the created material and retrieve as crates, which will give you a crate that you can unpack at a storage. You need to fill your inventory with gas cans or something if you only want 20, 40, 60 material because otherwise it will fill your whole inventory with boxes. All materials will give you 20 in a box except Basic Material that will give you 100.

You can create a private reserve stockpile in the seaport where you can store your materials and whatever you want to store there. Only boxes and large things without weapons can be stored in a reserve stockpile and make sure to put stuff in before the 2 day timer expires to renew the stockpile so that you items stay private, everything will go public if the timer expires just like how it is with the refinery. I am a logistics player and usually keep 1-2 of the vehicles I need in my private stockpile so that I can always do my job.
