I have a similar setup but with winamp and i got a plugin which allows me to have multiple audio outputs, with the first audio output being the microphone input to stream music, and output nr2 goes towards my headphones so i can hear it myself aswell, without the 2nd output i would only be able to stream music but i wouldnt hear it myself.

Playing music is just poor voice chat etiquette in any game really.
Unless you are in a private, clan, guild, etc channel that doesn't mind or care most people will just put you on mute and ignore you for it.
if you're doing something small scale like partisan where others won't be bothered by it I could see that, but odds are you're gonna get voice muted by a lot of people otherwise.
I was just logged for a few seconds when a player spawned to the same fob, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ rap music blasting (and I hate rap music). So, as always guy was mute and ignored as I played combat medic, reviving and healing and unloading my rev (back then rev were so OP) in between, trying to have my share of fun while I could.
But this player died several time. I'm guessing a couple time at least he screamed for help, but hey, he was mute so... After a stupid death, he came back while I was reviving some clan guy that now I don't remember. Music guy shot his pistol, missed me, and hit clan guy who then was shot down by some random enemy while walking very slowly to safety. Music guy kept shooting until he had to reload. So I pulled my rev, gave the best Dirty Harry impression I could to myself (as I don't use mic) do-you-feel-lucky-punk-? style, shot music guy down, letting him bleed out, and got reported. It was worth it.
Enjoy the game, mate ! But try not to be offended if people ignore you.
The fun police are at my door. hold on.
DO NOT play music , first of all , its makes it harder to hear people talk , secondly , your music is ♥♥♥♥ , and thirdly , I will shoot you if i see you doing it.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thanks for telling me something i was already told a year ago by like 5 people. how tf did you even find this thread?
When I play multiplayer type games which has in-game voice. Any time someone uses in-game voice to play music OR another do other dumb stuff on it. Get's muted on my end and will never get removed from my mute list.
For me in-game voice is used for important things like giving commands and stuff like that.
