What's the point of Level and Ranks?
why even have them i mean, when everyone can use every gun. this not even make sense to see pte with Sniper rifle or pte driving a tank. i think everyone should only start with only rifle unlock and each time your level increase you will be able to use more weapon. No p2w No elitist. because you can't boost level.

and the newbie is ruining the game that have zero tutorial. why not let them practice with just rifle first? when they are just pte. i mean it make every sense to restrict them from using higher tier weapon.

or Just make a restriction like this, level 1-5 player can't take anything from FOB or townhall, they can only take rifle and basic equipment, but they can still use sniper, rpg or smg if higher rank/level player give them or kill and capture from enemy.

Currently rank and level is useless rn fix it pls

lvl and rank is sort of an indicator of how experienced (or long) you played the game. there should and probably never be any form of locking players out of equipment even if they are new.

through i do wish they sales happened before the wars. let the new players play a few skirmishes to get the hang of the game. but i can understand that the main goal of this game is the persistant warfare and they want the new players to experience that

rank and lvl was always and probably will always be useless. its just a way to show off you've played alot and commend traded with all your buddies. (through i think lvl or rank was needed for something in the game but i forgot what exactly required one of those to be at a certain lvl)

Zero tutorial? I started playing today and we had four high ranking players who gathered the players into groups and taught us everything we needed to know. At the end they led us into battle. We were Wardens though. I dunno how Colonials help their newbies.

In generaal rank is just something next to a players name. Most of the time a higher ranks has little to do with the skill of a player.

Yep I also bought the game today and joind Warden. First thing I noticed there were some high ranked players helping out and showing us the basics. Went through bootcamp basic training after that we marched together on to battlefield. Very nice expiriance and a great game!!!!

I've also been really impressed by the reception today. I've seen a rotation of guided tours going on all day, and my introduction was really helpful.
One of the best pieces of advice I received was something along the lines of "If you see someone with a higher rank who sounds like they know what they're doing, do what they tell you" :-P

Level and rank is the reason why people ignore you when you have a good idea because you are "too new" to understand how this game maybe works

Right now my rank is Major general and level 21 but i found no use of it, sure people listen to me like a lot but how is that be something call progression? basically this game lack the thing call progression.

like i asking myself what do i fight for? level? rank? fun? shooting 100 colonial mean nothing winning war or my name is being list in leader board mean nothing when there is no actual progression to motivate me for playing more.

Everything is meaningless without contrived unlocks!

There's plenty of progression, just none of it is specific to your character. You contribute to it.
I haven't played much yet, but it's clearly not a game about being "the chosen one" :-P

It's not about progression it's about how the game works.

When I started the game (not wc) I was joining a stalemate situation and I have done the normal thing. Nothing happen. But then I have done my math.

Asked to build a howitzer in a line where no forward was able. I was pushed back by high ranked and leveled players who said it was a stupid idea.

To that time, emats where rare. So I squad up with other 3 players, build a howitzer and totally beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of the enemy in just 3 hours after the first Howie stand. And we won the game with that push. Because field arty wasn't in sight and also bad to carry to the Frontline. It was also available to 4x more than field arty if I remember correctly.

There are much more situations like that where higher players tried to shut me down because I don't want to use the "Meta tactics" and also thinked on the whole map scale and don't just how they wanted.

I also won a game as fm in like 4 hours just simply i had half of the players worked together with my tactic and I got insulted on game chat because I don't want to do what the higher players wanted me to do. Instead we rushed apc with bazookas because the tech were coordinated and overrun the collies.

My latest experience in wc was that because I have a low level nobody listen to what I said. I had to discuss over 3 hours with a high ranked guy, create a map when I tried to told him that the main supply line out of a town was not defended. End of the story: after 3 hours discussing they attacked the town with me, overrun the enemy, took another town because supplies couldn't reach it now.

But the point is: my experience is that if you have a low rank or level nobody listen to you just because you are low rank or level and also don't want to Waste time and just go like they know everything.

when you are no body you make a group of no body, surely rank mean ppl will more likely to listen to you but it still mean nothing for the actual progression, i experience all those you have listed to the point that fighting is boring and doing logistic is more fun to watch ppl fighting in my proximity war of logistic with other team. what keeping me to comeback to this game is the updates, try new thing and then get bore because no personal progression in game.

That main battle tank is just the same as normal tank but with hmg on it. rocket is interesting but doubt we will be able to get it before the batte is win or lose. what I'm trying to say is that adding new thing is good but it won't make ppl stay in a long term, do you know why this game population reduce from almost 5000 online everyday to around 500 player? lacking of progression and then they get bore.
Kael Dec 14, 2018 @ 12:53am
I don't think it's progression instead that people see that this game is broken in its basis design. I stopped playing it not because it's boring by the fighting and stuff. I stopped playing because I saw the game is going into the wrong direction

The devs made, in my opinion, major decisions which were bad for the game and ignore most wanted stuff from the community.
The devs were blocking "fast playing game styles" as example and start destroying all the useful stuff or make it nearly boring.

I often experienced situations in wc where you must sit in your foxhole and do nothing because you don't have the items ready to overcome possible situations and many more

Agree with this. But player population starting to decline ever since before WC updates there is literally like 50 people online for whole week. But then when WC updates player coming back again to 400-500 online. So i can't say this is the main reason. Why do you think 4800 player online for almost 3 whole month everydays disapear even before WC update that is a fast pace game?

Surely it's about progression
