Foxhole

Logistics tips for new players.
So I just started the game a couple days ago and decided to start as logi (learn the foundations sorta thing) and I have realized that there are a couple of key, fundemnetal, aspects to being a logi that all must know, but no new players actually know.

1. When you start your shift always check the Port town (the star on the maps in the north) for its stock of base materials. It all starts from having ample materials, keeping the base mats stocked at port bases is the first step to a proper distribution network.

2. Base materials are Basic Materials, Refined Materials, Refined Fuel and Sulfur.

3. Base levels for port towns on northern maps is Basic materials = 10-15k, Refined Materials = 5-10k, Refined Fuel = 5-10k, Sulfur = 5k.

4. DO NOT PUT CRATES FROM FACTORIES IN FOB IN PORT TOWNS. This was a huge one for me and I just learned it yesterday and have noticed many many new logi people do this. When you produce crates of mats via the factory, put them into the storehouse, not the fob. The storehouse keeps them in their crate format, while the FOB unpacks them all.

5. Keep basic equips in port town FOB, but dont over stock them. Radios, Bino, revolver, medicals, and some rifles with ammo to match. Keep around 100 of each and around 300 12.7mm.

6. Vehicle base stock I try to maintain is x4 HT, x2 Amphibs, x2 light logi, x4 Logi trucks. It is SUPER important that you do not block the traffic areas in the port towns with these vehicles, so keep them lined up and clean and ALWAYS remember to unlock them when they are stocked and rdy.

7. If you are transporting mats to a hot zone always ask in world TEAM chat if the road leading to X has been secured before you transition maps. If it is not secured you should bring a light logitics vehicle with the mats or use bino, radio, sniper rifle combo to clear your own route. Leaving your mats hidden in the zone before the hot area.

8. When the grunts take a new area on a map it is critical that logi brings them basic supplies asap. First load should be 100-200 shirts, 500 B mats, 500 Rmats, and 1 case of hammers 1 case of wrenches. From there you want to keep B and R mats flowing to them and throw in the usuals as well. So all but 4-6 spots for B and R mats then 1 crate of each basic equip each trip. Rifles, medicals, ammo, lots of ammo, bino, gas masks, you know.

9. Always check the place you are stocking when in a hot zone to see what they are desperate for before you go get more of something for them. Maybe some other logi just brought them 2k bmats and you dont need to bring more that run, so bring more equips for the grunts.

Thats it basically what I have learned so far and tbh us doing the logi need to be on the same basic page to make this war work. We do some amazing work, but often I notice people rifling supplies to a front when the port town has 0bmats, sulfur or rmats. This will literally break the chain of equips.

So what I have been doing is finding the hot front map, going to the northern port town of that map (for instance mooring if we are assaulting farnac or defending farnac or the map south of farnac) and making sure the base materials are flowing.

As I keep B mats, refined fuel and sulfur pumping in the refinery I stop and set some shirts and ammo and w/e the STOREHOUSE needs then just deposit it and go back to gathering base mats.

Hope this helps someone and it doesnt come across as too noobish or preachy or long winded. Just trying to teach some new ppl the basics for a very important aspect of this game.

There's a decent amount of good advice here, though there are things that should be added/corrected.

1. The Port Bases don't actually "start" with very much supplies at the beginning of the war. As the war goes on, and expecially for new players, it will have a fair amount of supplies because it's been stocked. It is very nice to have a stockpile of resources like bmats and sulfur as logi, but it's actually not as efficient to store too many bmats and rmats since they could be transported to the fronts to be used for defenses.

2. bmats = Basic Materials (Refined from Scrap)
rmats = Refined Materials (Refined from Components)
emats = Explosive Materials (Refined from Sulfur)
RF = Refined Fuel (Refined from fuel)
SS or shirts = Soldier Supplies

3. Pretty sure those values aren't actually what it starts with (correct me if I'm wrong, been a while since I've looked at what Port Bases start with at the beginning of the war). And since you're metioning the northern maps, that means the colonials in the south would be different.

4. The only reason you should submit crates into a Port Base is if you directly need to pull the stuff back out (ex. Submit 1 crate of radios if there are none to equip one youself, maybe 1-2 crates of ammo/shells to fill up your AC/FMG/HT/Tank, etc. before you leave). You can't recrate supplies, so don't be submitting tons of crates of stuff that would have to be pulled out and transported individually.

5. I'd almost rather say don't stock the port base with more than bare minimum quantities of stuff. It would ideally be better to always supply the stockpile and just go grab a crate or two to submit if you need to pull out something.

6. Nothing else to say besides to keep the vehicle factories full of fuel and bmats if nothing else to make building vehicles quicker for people who need them.

7. This is a big deal. Always ask if there is a possiblility when having to drive on or near roads that are not defended or being fought over. Make sure you refresh your map at town halls or FOBs to see how much coverage/protection/combat is along your path if you don't have a radio. Sometimes, all it takes for a safe delivery is driving offroad around the danger. LUV's are much better than trucks for that due to their faster offroad speed.

8. I'd recommend not over 50-100 shirts in the first load, since if the enemy takes it back, then it could go straight to them. I don't really see a need for hammers since you'll always find one on a body somewhere. Just make sure the TH, fort, or FOB has SS (don't put SS in if it's an HQ, the TH or fort that's marked on the map as a star. They get free spawns not requiring SS), rifles, rifle ammo, and meds. Bmats, rmats and explosives are next most important.

9. Indeed, always check the location and nearby locations for what other basic supplies they are out of or will soon be out of. You pretty much never get told when somewhere is running low on stuff until it's too late, so take your advantage to glance through what other stuff needs supplied soon. And I say other nearby locations not as just other front lines, but even backlines. You never know what has been stockpiles behind lines that could be moved up (ex. 2k+ bmats, 300+ ammo, etc.)

Going to reemphasize the importance of not dumping hundreds of SS into HQ's since they provide spawns without requiring SS. When delivering bmats and rmats to a TH, fort, or FOB, ALWAYS try and find a crate to store them in nearby instead. If people have to pull them from the bases stockpile, they can only get 20 every few seconds compared to getting a stack of 100 in a single click with no delay from a crate.

You should also find out what towns are capable of refining bmats on the front so you know where doesn't need them delivered. There are cases where they will still request some, expecially when you just take a town, since they need that surplus suddenly to build.

LOGI loadout -
Weapon with ammo - bad things happen to good people. Make sure they pay!
Radio - Easiest way to find out if a route is clear.
Binoculars - Bandits reported in the area but no tower coverage? See if they are around you.
Wrench - Abandoned vehicle blocking traffic? Not with this tool.

If you can, do not stockpile emats in portbases, refine a nice big order and just take out emats to put them in factory when they are needed. They have very long assembly time unlike rmats and bmats.

thanks for adding some tips guys!

New one I learned, as was said above, keep Rmats and sulfur on refining. They take lots of time and are used quickly.

Order of operation for logi when you first login:

1) submit blueprints
2) submit sulfur for refining
3) go to the closest scrap mines and sulfur mines and get them refining
4) mine some components
5) get scrap and sulfur from mines and submit components, scrap, and sulfur for refining
6) make shirts
7) make other weapons
8) bring supplies to front or put in warehouse
9) pickup blueprints
10) Goto 1)

Would someone please put this information in a guide so it can be bumpped up, upvoted, liked, favorited etc. so that the information can be preserved? doesn't need to be pinned to the forums... just stored.

I could write up a guide sometime soon compiling stuff if no one else wants to or does so before me. If anyone has other good advice or changes to stuff if that is what someone wants to do, then it would need to be posted above, or if I did it, I'd work off what I know and what's mentioned in this and maybe other posts if I find other good stuff.

Alright, I've just published a guide that currently contains an outline of stuff for new Logi players.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1586545212

I've not had a ton of time to spare to work on it so it doesn't include everything yet, but I'm going to keep updating it and improving it for the future so do leave feedback along with any changes or additions for it.
