Clans: Good or Bad?
I've recently been noticing more discussions clan related. things like "Give clans more recognision" or "Clans are killing the game!". And the only games that i thought would have clans are survival or FPS games, i was actually quite surprised to know games such as Foxhole would have things like clans. I personally dislike clans, as they do bring quite a lot of toxicity to any game they play. But they are also, a team of people. A bunch of players banding together to play their favorite games. Some are good, some are bad. But when the 'fun' aspect dissapears in a clan. They do in fact become the source of major toxicity in many games. Taking the game too seriously and simply treating clanless people like garbage, and when two clans meet they can get very "Verbally" agressive and making the game unenjoyable for people that are playing alongside the clans.

Now, about clans in Foxhole. I dislike them even more...
The reason to why is that Foxhole is about total co-operation. Hundreds of players in a single team fighting against the other team of hundreds.
But when some of those hundreds of players decide to play on their own without helping the entire team, they disconnect from the rest and simply ignore them. Hogging resources, mistreating the clanless and in certain cases, believing they are above everyone else just because they are in a clan. Then making suggestions that would only benefit the clans and leave the normal player with nothing new.

But, are they really that bad? I haven't heard a case where clans have made a game of a Foxhole war more fun so far. What do you, as a clanless think about these clans?

Clans are inherently neutral. I've seen good clans bring the war together and I've seen bad players ruin a good experience. IMO this game has clans in a good enough of a spot as they have the teamwork and coordination to get stuff done... all this game needs is the tools for us "Randoms" to do the same, and a willingness of all of us to follow the 3 Cs.

Communication
Cooperation
Coordination.

Any side that has these three things and uses them the best will win.
"Foxhole is about total co-operation."

COMMUNISM
Clans can be a major factor in a battle, both in good ways and very awful ways.

There are those times when a well- coördinated push, made by a clan, can lead to a stalemate being broken. There are plenty of cases on YT where a clan is highly capable of making a difference, or partisan clans wrecking supply lines. This is to be commended!

There have also been times where a clan utterly ♥♥♥♥♥ on anyone that isn't willing to play the game their way. This has led to somewhat rare cases of clans kicking & banning random people for not giving in to their desires(things like not bringing X amount of supplies, or not giving away a truck they so desperatly need). This is despicable.

Additionally, clans have the tendency to give eachother commends for simply being in said clan. This leads to clan members having high ranks in the game for simply existing, rather than having performed amazing or usefull things(logi, scrapping and doing great in a battle in any way). This is why i often question their experience, especially if they are vocal about it.

So, its a mix-match. They are welcome, as long as they never abuse their power in a awful way.
WNS is a prime example of a stupid and ignorant clan that does not listen to anyone. This was a few wars ago, but they basically nuked a FRIENDLY warden town to stop the collies from taking it. They did not even consult with entire team before using the nuke. However most clans are good and are willing to coordinate with us randoms most of the time but you do get a few clans hogging vehicles and resources thinking they are superior in skill when they are not. A random team can do just as well as a clan team in most instances, I've done it in a random tank crew.

Adding to the above statements, clans are a mixed bag in short. Some are good, some are bad.

Some clans are good, but others just hog resources and see themselves as above everyone else...
99.9% of the clans are toxic trash and killing the game

This is not very constructive. Some clans try to help randoms and use only the ressources they farmed.

They are a part of the game, allowing organized push and effective defenses on small front parts whereas the random usually fill the gaps in our line because they are more flexible.
Why would u think this game wouldn't have clans, it makes sense for a game like this, planet side has clans

I have no clue why u claim 99% are? I'd say a more reasonable number is maybe 20-30%?

Most clans i've worked aside have been friendly. and generally when u have an issue with one its just a random issue not that the entire clan is like that...
It is stupid to even debate about clans being bad or good in a game such as Foxhole.
Clans are needed and are a very good asset, but as every asset, it has to be used correctly.
Because as previously stated, they get the job done when used correctly.
For example, I'm in CAW on the Warden side, and with just 2 ACs and a FMG (therefore just 6 players coordinating) we held up a massive collie push in Deadlands for 3h/4h, while just before without us, randoms players in infantry were just getting murdered over and over without having the possibility to counter the offensive. And we didn't "use the ressources" of the team to make it, we farmed and prepared this op during 1h30 and we used just what we needed to help counter the attack.
Once again, there is good and bad, and people need to make the difference between a few players from a clan being toxic and a clan as a whole.

i noticed few clansmen "dominating" certain places, objects and resources preventing other players using them, OR in the worst case, killing them just for checking out what that building is or what is inside the vehicle.
I've also seen clansmen organize a supply routes, transports, resource gathering.
They are good, they are bad. Now if we only could make community realize that when you encounter that same dude for the 4th time gathering that same resource, offer to continue his job so he can do something else without cutting the resource supplies?
I think Foxhole suffers from people playing the wrong type of game, In random and clan.
People who play Squad play for the Modern fighting and teamwork, people who play arma groups do it for the LARP and the modern combat.
But a noticeable amount of people who play foxhole DONT play for co-operation and teamwork but for constant gratification at the expense of others.
now enjoying a game is fine but some people expect constant action in a game about the slow grind of war.
both are fun
I think games need to respect human nature, and it is human nature to form social bonds, create common goals and consider themselves better as compared to those who they do not see pulling their own weight.

It is not matter what should be, but what is. There will be clans, be they formal or informal.
