How do you get commends

no idea how this mechanic works I just find that I have some randomly.. is it from kills or heals or building or what I am confused how commend system works (gaining/giving etc)

Also what does it do?

Does it relate to ranking up or something else.

I agree that they need to add a new system that separates the current popularity contest system with a merit based system.

Would be nice to know who is a veteran in say tank combat or delivering goods or even making stuff at the factory.

They can lei the current "Facebook-like" commend system as it somewhat simulates current society (rest in peace to society) but maybe also add more systems that cater to different purposes such as the one I described above and then maybe make a tallying overall score from all categories and groups of interest to make an overall final rank or they can apply a unique ranking system that shows a different rank for each aspect of the game from maybe even pistol proficiency to howitzer artillery proficiency etc.

They can honestly attach a ranking to each aspect of the game while still keeping their current commend system and it would a new depth and level of flavour to the game.

Just my two cents.

Personally I wanna see who is in the top 100 maybe for resource harvesting and transporting materials :)

Still early days and I "commend" the foxhole team so far for all they have done truly amazing ground breaking work hurrah.

If you go to the scoreboard I think F1 you can see a list of players in your region.

There is an upvote or up arrow button that you can click on other players this is the commend button and you can commend a person 3 times max in a 24 hour period aka daily.

This is a commend.

Right now what I have found, read and been told is the commends directly translate into your rank so more commends equals higher rank.

How you gain commends for yourself to give to others I am still not 100% quite sure but from my brief testing so far you can get commends from making stuff at the factory and refinery and taking stuff out of certain buildings and killing enemy soldiers.

When you receive commends from other players you will get a message in the top left but you do not gain commends this way only rank up kind of like a reputation system.

Yeah that is all I know for certain for now.

Harvesting does not give you commends as far as I know with a harvester not sure with other tools.

Yeah no idea when this commend system came out as I only joined this game last war in war 37 iirc we are now in war 38.

oh haha it is all good sometimes I can pick up on it sometimes I can't it really is situational or depends in the moment I am just in robot grind mode atm been doing some stuff systematically so I guess my sarcasm detector was not even online at the moment.

Its hard to pick up on sarcasm when poes law has been in full effect for the last 5 years.

It's done this way to try and get more people to play. Of course, I think the devs realized that adding more content is the way to get more people to play.

I haven't played Foxhole recently but normally i always get commends when i do logistics.
When you look at your map you see some signs with what is needed and where.
Now i look into the public stockpile if there is the needed material. If not than i mine/craft them myself and drive it to the frontlines. I never used vehicles from others and made my own, except maybe this scrap metal mining car, forgot the name of it. But i also refilled public fuel tanks.

Few words, rank doesn't mean ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in this game. Anyone can inflate their ranks via playing with groups. I have seen so many clueless Maj+ players who don't even know how to do basic infantry ops.

You just want enough ranks that you are able to create squads and regis. For that just do basic logi like, drop bmat crates to public seaport and drive stuff into public frontline storage depots.

Other than that trade commends with your squads after ops.

Do not beg for commends in chat.
