not allowed to drop stuff

Sometimes i'm not allowed to drop stuff on the ground, anyone know why this is?

I think it's unique to the server. I've noticed this only in regards to what you spawn with, hammer, pistol, 2 clips of ammo. I think they do this because people will just drop these and maybe they don't want to litter the map and make the native Americans sad.

Yeah I noticed it with the starting gear as well, but I had it happen with scrap metal as well.

But it's good to know it's not a problem on my end at least.

That may still be server side consider scrap is valuable maybe they want to prevent people from wasting it by dropping. Test by checking a community and then an official server.

What means the thing is squad locked, it not allows droping on the ground to prevent people from throwing squad's things on said ground to despawn them. You can still use it, or drop into the nearby box and town hall, however.

That's not what he's talking about. Please read all 3 other comments. He clearly isn't talking about squad locked things. You can't even pick up squad locked inventory so how would he have it in his own inventory to begin with to complain about not being able to drop it???? Think :)

It may have to be something the developers programmed in to prevent lag on servers in the case of players littering the map with thousands of items. I have only seen the "Not allowed to drop" when the server is full or almost full (130/140 or so)

:D lol, nobs... means u must unequip it and put it in your inventory.. then u can drop it..

I also had that bug sometimes, pretty weird, only way to "unload" stuff was to use either TH/outpost or crate.

nope not the case, as I said before I had it with scrap metal as well. How would I have equipped the scrap metal in the first place? Put it on my head?

I had it with starting gear and scrap metal I mined myself, so that's not it.

Unequip the hammer/sledge first, then try to drop the metal.

i've had this happen to me as well with tank shells. solved by putting them into a chest for someone else to grab.

i believe it could be a squad locked item from vehicle gets dropped (possibly straight from vehicle) to ground and glitches to become a squadlocked item on ground.

Completely guessing though.
