Vehicle locking?
Let me first start off by saying I love this game. I love it. I primarily enjoy the building aspect of it. But the one thing that I do notice that is a constant issue is people bringing vehicles into forward outpost bases locking them, then just leaving it forever. This takes up space and blocks building areas. Is there anything one can do to unlock the vehicles so the team can at least use the mats inside?

Wrench will unlock it.
If it's squadclaimed, you can shoot and kill it to get access to the mats.

Yeah its annoying and you can unlock them with a wrench. I have seen even worse cases where trucks are literally blocking up entire roads because they are parked in there in mass. The example from the screenshot is still somewhat acceptable, since they don't block any space and are parked in order.

Thanks for the reply. I just wish squad claiming didnt make me destroy the vehicle, becuase sometimes like for example when its a CV, It is quite beneficial to not destroy it if its already in the area you need it becuase it is so slow to move up.

biggest problem is someone going around squad locking everything

This is also a concern of mine.
Thanks for pointing that out.

What's even worse are car jackers, they just take your car the minute you leave to drop off supplies. I don't like the large parking spaces but just take a wrench and "borrow" on of them, just make sure it doesn't belong to anybody online first.

Well, i think squadclaimed CVs aren't that big of a issue, because you can load bmats into them and use them, you only can't take anything out of them.

But not being able to take things out of them is a problem. You might need those b mats elsewhere. For example Last night I was playing on DRK and we needed b mats to repair a half track, around 500 were locked in a squad claimed cv and we couldnt get access to it. We had to do a whole supply run becuase we couldnt get into a CV. Oh and the squad that claimed it had been off the server for a long while. So im not just trying to wrip off other peoples supply.

yeah that'd be pretty annoying

There have been other threads on this, but me and the buds thoughts on this allot, I can easly see a system that would work (you guys can chime in) but wouldn't it be better that...

1. Each person is allowed to only allowed two locked vehicals.

2. Your own team can NEVER unlock them.

3. However if you log for 30min those vehicals then unlock and anyone can access them.

Mind you there is the concern that "well we are trying to make an amada of tanks" or whatever, to be honest this is great and all, but if your doing that you will have enough bodies to lock them if you need such. If not, then I would argue if you are doing so for the "team" then don't lock them.

For us at least we beleive this would solve possible LD issues and other confrontational issues that arrise from this.

We all know this is a game about "team work" and in most cases, these vehicals are being used for there intended purpose whatever that might be. You might then argue you think you know better what the team needs at that time and you might be right. But in the end this is a game, it should be fun as much as possible and we all know this is a sour spot for many players.

This would also take care of those "elites" who "think" they know better then anyone else and tie up resources etc. You might have a good size squad but you only can own so many vehicals so this also would limits resource griefing, hording and so much more.

*Now adding to the above, the enemy still can break into vehicals, that should be a given.

+1,

also there should be a limit on squad locked vehicles per squad anyway.

Like something like this as well, good idea, not sure if they could implment it, but as far as what they have already in place, what I mentioned could be tweaked to do so. but ya, a range would be nice as well.
