How do I load a gun....?

I am using the correct ammo for the guns I am trying to load but when I click R to reload, nothing is happening.

I am completely new to this so I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

What weapon are you using, what ammo do you have on you, and is it already loaded in the first place?

I am using the SMG and was originally trying to put 7.62mm rounds into it, so it didn't work.

Tried it with a Carbine to see if that would work, that didn't either

first off make sure you have the right ammo for the right gun. 2nd to reload it's the same as every other FPS out there..... hit R. just open up the options screen go to keyboard and look at what buttons do what.

Yeah I tried adding 7.62mm into the SMG, that didn't work so I tried putting those rounds in a carbine and hitting R as well, still nothing.

7.62mm rifle rounds are commonly rifle ammo. Trying looking for 9mm SMG ammo for the gun you're using alongside 7.62mm carbine mags for the carbine.

The correct ammo for each gun is the one right next to it in the outpost/townhall you got the gun from. The one to the right of the gun.

for the SMG it uses the 9mm ammo and the carbine is 7.62 carbine. there is 7.62 ammo but make sure it says 7.62 carbine ammo. pretty much when you look at the weapons the ammo it uses is right next to it.

Not sure why'd you think 7.62 went into an SMG, but besides that you can see what weapon uses what ammo pretty easily, because they are shown next to each other.
