Ownership of vehicles
Game is awesome even in early access. The only complaints i have is you do need vehicle ownership that you can allow only yourself to drive and veiw and exchange the inventory out. I had started off with a truck and someone jumped inside because it wasn't locked and they drove off with it. The second incident was i jumped out of the truck to unload scraps and put them inside the manufactering plant and someone ran up and took a few hundred scaraps from the truck. I understand this is a co=op game but, when people act goofey or unsupposrive it becomes a nuisance to allow everyone to just do what they wish when you're trying to get something important accomplished. I suggest if you make a squad or group only those people are allowed to manipulate the truck and invesntory. it'll make this game alot more easier to not be worried about getting things taken from you when you're doing a supply drop.

That mechanic is already ingame.

A rank Corporal (Cpl) can make a squad and then invite other players into that squad. With 3 people in the squad you can squad-lock most vehicles so that even though your team mates can see whats inside and put stuf inside they cant take anything out.

The person who locks a vehicle should be able to access its content/enter it/exit it freely.

It's really clunky having to unlock the vehicle every time you want to access the cargo, during which you risk having the cargo or the vehicle stolen by your "team".

My trips to the manufacturing plant looked like this:

Drive to the plant, exit vehicle, unlock vehicle, unload vehicle quickly before anyone steals it, lock vehicle, slow walk (due to encumbrance) to the factory, get scraps processed, slow walk back to vehicle, unlock vehicle, load it quickly before anyone steals it, enter vehicle, lock it and drive away.

Perhaps I was doing it wrong, not sure, I only played about 2 hours but that was the procedure the game seemed to suggest.

Ask for an squad invite or create your own, invite 2 random ppl, newbs mostly accept, then claim your truck and lock it, then you can operate it locked, don't know if this is a bug or not.

it is very annoying to have to lock and unlock a vehicle all the time. i just stopped playing because i keep getting my vehicles stolen when unloading scrap for processing. I hope they address this. it wouldnt be so bad if i didnt have to slow walk supplies half way across the map for scrap -> bmat -> fuel -> truck depot to get a new truck 45 minutes later. And you cant get a ride because then you lose your mats in someones locked truck.

Sometimes even locking doesn't help. I was stopped at the weapons factory, had my truck locked and was standing there waiting for the weapons/ammo to be produced. When a squad of players came, asked me if that is my truck to which I replied "yes, I'm doing a delivery". Their response was talking about how they need a truck and started wrenching the truck and stole it. So I was stranded with a big load of weapon/ammo delivery but not truck. I don't get why people do this, it takes 5 minutes tops to build your own truck.

Problem is you lot gona bang heads with those that are tired of seeing FLEETS of parked and locked trucks all around the FOB's. On one server i saw about 10 locked trucks. No owners ware found so we had to destroy most of them to make room for defances.

So if you lot wanna safer trucks, you need to figure out how to prevent from heaving pepole locking them and leaving game with truck still locked.

What i see is making them unlock once a owner left a server but problem is some trucks can be left on one side of the map and owner is in diffrent side. So 30min of locked vehicle shuld result in auto-unlock.

What say you lot?

I would definitely support this. As for leaving the server. I would say if the truck owner doesn't log back in within 5 minutes, make the truck go unlocked. For leaving a truck parked somewhere, make it go unlocked after maybe 15 minutes or so.

@Morph113

Problem is in regard for logistic. Thay may be away from truck for more then 15min becouse thay running foot supply or taking piss or ♥♥♥♥ i know. So 30min is safe bet.

10 minutes sounds like a fair amount for auto unlocking a parked truck, unless they are part of a squad and members are still on. For squad vehicles probably a slightly longer unlock time. Say 20-25 minutes.

After all, it dosen't take 10 minutes to get to a truck you lost, unless the enemy over ran the possition.

Do remember hours go by fast when you siting on the front. 3 hours has passed and i dint noticed it, so 30min for personal lock, 45min for squad.

Those are harsh timers my friends.
Imagine someone got a BSOD, i don't think he will be back in 5 minutes.

Unlocks 1h after Logout and Unclaimes after 2h would be fair.

I see you brought up some well-grounded facts, so it's easy for me.

I just doubt it and maintain the contrary.
