possible bug on day 9/10. spoilers UPD: SOLVED lol

[this problem was solved but i think itd be nice to leave this here in case someone else makes the same silly mistake i did :D]

i saved in my cave on the evening of day 9 with like half of my inventory to leave some room for the blood. went into the abbatoir cave, defeated the worms, got their blood. made sure to check if the blood was still here before i climb up the ladder - it sure was. i climbed out on day 10 - all my stuff was back, i had the second menkhu finger (ive had one before i got into the cave) and some empty slots (not like singular slots, there's more then enough for the blood bottles) - and yet no blood. checked around the well to see if maybe it got dropped off (like items do when your inventory is full) - still nothing.

i reloaded back to my cave save and tried to fill up my inventory to force both the blood and the finger to be dropped, replayed the whole cave sequence and checked the dropped out items - only the finger.

is there something i dont understand? is this a bug or am i missing something? i checked a couple of video playthroughs and it seemed like either the blood got dropped off in a bag or it just appeared in people's inventories regardless of their progress (with the quests and such i mean). help would be much appreciated because i really counted on that blood

udp: you have to get the blood from the blood pools, not from the worms

Were you harvesting the blood of the worms? You were supposed to be filling your vials from the little fountains on the walls.

WHAT i thought i was supposed to disect them and take the blood lmaooooo. i thought that made sense since artemy was talking abt the "half-human" needed for the cure. i feel so silly right now. thank you so much!
