SPOILER.
Main.... action (city... plague...) - it is not all story. In the end you can find another meaning. Well it was in original game, but i think - here will be the same.
If you haven't finished the game don't read In the end of Pathologic 2 Aglaya dies in the end anyway
And when it was done, they became lazy and... apathetic (if you already have all, why should you do anything else). Slave system strikes not only the slaves, but the masters. Sistem starts falling. Plague... war...economy... ecology... no matter what, but it will be.
__________
So... you have finished Pathologic 2, but not the first part? And you are saying that they are different?
Well... in this case, the answer on yours thread can be a... spoiler (if you"re planning to play part one).
+ as i said here not a good\bad (objectively). There are a plenty of endings (and here - must be the same... but nowadays developers became greedy, and for now we have only one hero for play, and may be not all endings - not sure, didnt finished yet). In a part one, Aglaya (for example) can survive (at least it was in a first "box version"... maybe in a late steam version they have change it).
"financial crisis"... excuses for any situation :)
No one really know that it means but all talking about it (last 100 years). Two "magic" words - and you can do that you like".
"-Who took my donut?
- it was "financial crisis"!
Seriously? Even cartoons are already making fun of such excuses!
See! That's what happens when Aglaya, and others like her, don't care about city. :)
..... but it's already off topic.
Ice pick have made this game on the level which not ever big developers can make. That excuses EVERYTHING.
They collected money in one currency, then the Russian economy took a dive and that currency was devalued.
The money they collected thus had about half the purchasing power it had had the week before.
They said all this months ago. The devaluation is easily verifiable.
Nobody’s trying to use the devaluation of the ruble as an excuse for anything except a shortage of rubles.
Its actually the opposite to how you described.
If you collect in dollars with the plan to convert to a different currency (rubles), and that converted currency goes down, then when you convert you actually have more rubles.
E.g. if the exchange rate is 1 dollar is worth 0.5 rubles, then 10 million is worth 20 million rubles.
If the rate falls so 1 dollar is worth 0.25 rubles, it is now worth 40 million rubles
My understanding is a major investor got hit by the financial downturn and that caused a deal separate from the crowdfunding to fall through, which caused the change to the game
Exactly.
They should had have the same amount of money if they wanted something outside of Russia and twice amount of money if they would do everything domestic.
Unless they had converted all the dollars they had collected at Kickstartert into rubles, which was stupid, given all the whole year build up for this, including the Russian government discussing devaluating ruble way before Ukraine and oil drop.
The only thing I could believe with this "crisis" is that some invester pulled out off the Russian market.
But I do agree that your explanation is correct, it’s just not what I (and it’s my fault for being unclear) meant; I was viewing them as having, for all practical purposes, raising what ultimately became rubles that were then devalued.
