Saving babies
I know you can save babies on day 4 in the Chine and on day 5 in the spleen, but how? I think you are supposed to hear the baby crying to find the house where it is located, but I've been near every house in the Chine and I heard nothing that sounded like a crying baby. Any advice?

Okay, guess I'll run around a bit and see what happens.

I feel like it'd be hard to miss the baby crying noise. It's pretty intense. If you're not hearing it, it's probably a sign that something isn't triggering or you're in the wrong place.

Well, guess I can look forward to some exhausting walks through every infected district.

First one is in a house by the river near Yulia's. Unless you missed it, maybe that makes the quest not start?

I don't know. I've never missed it.

Well, I noticed that, event spoiler alert because some people still look at it, If Anna is sick, I think the event doesn't trigger
That's my experience with this quest.

Is it the first house you see after crossing the bridge? I've taken a short look inside it, nothing.

Well, ♥♥♥♥. Anna is sick in my game (did everything to prevent that though). Some way to fix this? Is there a story connection or is it just a bug?

Anyways, I fear that I'll have to give up my hopes of finding the baby in this run. I've tried pretty much everything I could. Someone else said I had to have 6 inventory spaces, which I created and then ran through every infected district with, and still nothing. Great. Only way to fix this might be by editing the save file and somehow reviving her this way. I have one shmowder left, but honestly, she's not worth it. Even when it allows me to save the babies.

Edit: And just to be clear: I do already have a thought related to the babies, in the "mind map", got it from the worker at the town hall.

It's a story connection. If an event requires a certain character to be there then it won't trigger if they're sick since they don't have them leave their homes in that case so that they're easy to find. At least, that's what I assume. I know of at least 1 other quest that works this way so I'm fairly certain. If she's already sick then I don't think there is anything you can do :/
You might try skimming through some of the walkthroughs to see if they have anything on it if you were really set on doing it. I hope the rest of the game works out better for you :D

It's pretty frustrating, but I'll manage without the babies and will maybe get the achievement in a third playthrough if I have to. Thanks for your help.

Oh, and: Would anyone be so kind and tell me about new insights about Anna Angel gained through the babies? What is their connection? I know Anna used to be a singer and circust artist and that she abused the children who worked for her circus, generally living a rather unmoral life, but do the babies have to do with her?

Anna is kidnapping the babies to sell to a "haruspex" who is apparently using them for potions of some sort. This is in exchange for protection from the plague. It's implied he's a quack, you never see him, and her final quest in her chain (for which you don't need to have rescued the babies), she has been cursed by the "haruspex." I don't know if there's more to it than that, but that's the general gist. There are three babies I believe, and I only saved two of them. Following this questline is one of the ways to learn the information you need to save Murky from her "friend." But there are easier ways.

Thanks a lot!

you dont need to get inside the houses, just pass by close to them and if theres a baby it gets marked on the map

I know. That was just an act of desperation as passing every single house in every infected district didn't work. Apparently, the quest doesn't work because Anna is infected in my game.

Woah woah woah, three? I've only ever saved or seen mention of 2...
