Second, if you are no longer eligible for the refund
You can edit your number of deaths in the profiles file located in
C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\LocalLow\Ice-Pick Lodge\Pathologic 2\Saves
Before editing it, make certain to back up the file by copying it. If you know how to edit .xml/configuration files then a backup is mostly useless, but if you are new to it, then you should most certainly make the backup.
I can confirm that lowering the death number in the profile file will both remove the penalty, but will also cause mark to do the scene for the death in question again.
As for saving Rubin, forget knifes, get a gun and bullets.
Don’t bother talking to the worm and instead jump up onto these boxes

Next, Shoot him. Assuming you are in the proper spot, he will walk all the way around the back of the building

If he starts walking towards you then walk further back towards the back of the building until he starts to go towards the back
Wait for him to come around and shoot him while he is walking towards you

If he gets too close walk back a few steps until he heads toward the front of the building.

Wait for him to turn the corner and step forward.
You won’t even miss out on the worms dialogue because, even if you kill him without talking to him, getting close to his dead body will prompt the dialogue to come up.
Repeat for each worm, avoid attracting more then one at a time though.
Btw is a strong blow of a knife triggered just by holding left mouse button (stab animation)? I'm asking as I won't for sure have enough ammo to kill all 4 worms.
I just managed to kill the 4 quite easily after a few tries with stealth and melee weapons. If you need to you can buy some lockpicks from Grief right there at the warehouses (watch out though as they break fairly quickly - 1 per odongh for me). If you just give them 4 quick hits out of stealth, they won't even have time to turn around. Maybe you can use strong blows as well, but it worked for me that way. Btw watch out for the last two, as they seem to be close to each other so the 4th one starts coming at you when you kill the 3rd one, I just took him out with the revolver.
Let me know if this helps, it was the toughest part for me so far as well.
Best way to fight them head on is to punch them a few times, block to regain stamina and move diagonally back left or back right for fastest movement and the Worms aren't usually fast enough to keep up. They will attack and miss, atleast this was the case most of the time for me. I managed to take all four head on with just fists using this method.
I hope you don't think I meant I took all four at once, I took them head on one at a time. I can't even fight two enemies at the same time with just my fists.
now i know why this guy sucks so much and dies all the time. You use lockpicks to insta kill them
Dude, you suck, stop giving people your negative opinions.
As for OP, yes, holding down the attack button gives you a strong attack. It will stagger the worms, and if you back up when they stagger, then move forward with another strong attack, you can literally kill them without ever taking a hit.
I used a full durability scalpel, and it took 3 strong attacks to kill each one. If you creep around after the first one, you should be able to single each of the other 3 out and repeat the strong attack and pick them off one by one.
Are you kidding? The original Pathologic is a decent game for sure but its "sequel-remake" is definitely superior in a lot of ways.
