Did I screwed myself out of completing my daily task?

On day 4 I got the daily hospital task to give all patient painkiller. I don't have such a thing so I went ahead and try to cure as many as I could then went on my day. By midday I fixed the machine and brewed some painkillers but all the patients has already been treated and I couldn't give them anymore treatment.

So how exactly do I complete this task? Does administrating morphine count or do I seriously need 4 painkillers and wait until I have them before trying out different treatment?

Morphine counts. Once you administer treatment, you can't apply painkillers anymore

Don't forget to loot the cabinet in the theatre, I think the game gives you at least 2 morphine capsules.

Alright. And I guess the quest marker doesn't disappear until the day ends too?

I'm pretty sure it goes away once you complete the task... There should be an entry in your journal though. If that says you're done you should be good.

I just ran into the same issue as well. I administered morphine to two patients when I received the task and then left the theatre to go find more. When I came back later to give morphine to the other two, the game stopped counting those doses towards the task. I'm wondering if the latest patch is causing the task to glitch out when you leave the theatre?

I tried again. The key is I need to reduce the patient's pain to zero instead of just administrating painkiller.

i'm pretty sure thats not the case and you can only give one painkiller to each patient for quest to finish.
and you can cure them after that.

No, Pedro is right, the pain had to be reduce completely. It is not necessary to administrate cure to complete this task, yet pain needs to be reduced to zero, then the event updates.

Yeah, I screwed myself this way too. because I tried treating first I had to waste a lot more painkillers.
