Although now I stand corrected, thank you.
Can't accept modernday changes within society, boomer?
Exactly, if it's so mere and unimportant, why did the developers felt the need to make this change? It's idiotic to say the least. What's next? Will they say Mario is actually a lesbian with a moustache?
Although I get the feeling the developer was asked "is Celeste trans?" and his answer was more along the lines of "yeah, whatever", as if you feel the need to be delusional and think that every character is trans it is up to you, like when Mark Hamill said Luke Skywalker was gay. If that's your fantasy it's your business.
What they fail to understand is just what you said, having a trans character or character of any race and gender in its own way isn't a problem, but doing that to previously established characters IS a problem. Just look what they've done to April in TMNT, like couldn't they introduce a new character instead of changing her that badly?
no one should give a ♥♥♥♥ what someones gender is one way or another, its none of our business and im sick to death of having this nonsense shoved down my throat
The word transphobic doesn't even make sense. What does it mean? That I'm afraid of transpeople? In that case it's just like someone can be afraid of spiders. In that case, you are a not guilty of anything besides being a victim.
Anyway, I don't like the fact that they sold me a game with a female protagonist and then decided to change it. I wonder if they did that because they are a bunch of misogynists.
If someone is arachnophobic, they don't think spiders are an affront to nature that should be exterminated. They're just scared of them, probably through no fault of their own.
Conversely, transphobes don't suffer a panic attack whenever they see trans people. They just hate them. Though that doesn't mean their hatred can't also be fueled by fear (albeit not the kind of fear that's completely irrational and beyond their control). This is the kind of phobia that isn't excusable.
Also, you were never promised that the protagonist was cis. Just that she was female, which is still accurate.
thats not the definition of a phobia at all, a phobia is fear nothing to do with hatred at all
It literally claims that "several terms with the suffix -phobia are used non-clinically (usually for political or deterrent purpose) to imply irrational fear or hatred."
The entire personality of Madeline is supposed to be a reincarnation, a resemblance to the Extremely OK Games (Creators of Celeste) team. (Especilaly Lena Raine and Maddy)
And considering the fact that that both are transgender, the reason should be clear.
It doesn't change the game, it's just information, lore, history. If you're unable to accept the fact that the developers make the protagonist realistic: then TOO BAD for you.
