The previous game was on GOG and this one is on itch.io
Just asking: How can Steamworks be a reason for you to refund a game? Even more when it's a game you enjoy playing?
Ok, I understand what you mean. But as far as I know for most Steam games you don't need to launch Steam. You can directly start them from the folder where they were installed. But I don't know if Celeste is an exception (i.e. if Celeste contains any extra copy protection mechanisms).
2018 has nearly came to its end and people keep mentioning pirates in gog-related threads. Cmon, this joke never was fun
As for the people bringing up the age old "GOG = Piracy" argument, You people just don't get it do you? GOG or no GOG doesn't make a difference these days, to put it bluntly, a simple google search is enough to show a bunch of out of Steam downloads. It wouldn't make sense trying to prevent what has already happened.
And by not putting the game on GOG actually hurts sales, as there are quite a few people who simply won't buy the game anywhere else, starting with myself.
