PERFORMANCE BUILDING DEMOLITION

• Blowing whole shell off a building could sink the framerate for a couple of seconds while the debris settled worst right in the middle of a firefight.

• The cause, every flying chunk was doing expensive collision math against the buildings' detailed collision meshes, and slow frames made physics work even harder to catch up.

• Debris now collides with the terrain only. Demolishing a building holds full frame rate even under fire measured at a rock steady frame time where it used to spike to 90ms.

• The trade very occasionally a flying chunk may pass through a wall or a car instead of bouncing off it. We'll take that over the lag every time.

VISUALS CYBORG MUZZLE FLASH

• The cyborg's muzzle flash sat slightly beside the rifle and pointed at a small angle off the barrel.

• Turned out to be two bugs in one the flash was anchored a few centimetres off the true muzzle, and it pointed along the bullet's path instead of along the gun.

• We measured the rifle's actual 3D geometry and pinned the flash to the real muzzle tip, aligned with the real barrel it now tracks the firing animation exactly. Cyborg accuracy is unchanged they were always shooting straight, it just didn't look like it.
