Help - My screen flipped in both X and Y view. It is upside downwards and sides reversed too!
I am playing a West Coast US game. Now California is on the right, and Montana at the bottom of the map.

that would be controlled by either the graphic drivers or you might be playing on some type of flip-over laptop or tablet.. every PC has different options and you gave no system specs to go forward with.

Right. It's not the game, It is the display video driver. you probably have some combination of keys, like Ctl or Alt and the arrow keys, that can rotate the display or flip it 180.

I have not used any keys or anything else to adjust the screen.

I later purchased a business within a city and the screen switched back to normal.

So, yes, it MUST BE the game.

Head over to the Bugreport-subforum, check out the stick threads, and send them what they ask you for. You can not anticipate every possible future driver and what you're describing sounds like a driver related issue. Note that this only makes sense if you can replicate this behaviour.

What Maxim describes is what you would expect from a flip-over laptop or tablet. Since you haven't shared any information about your system, but denied using keys as pmcmull assumed.

You can find endless FAQ about screens flipping over, including this one[answers.microsoft.com], and while some involve using keys others don't.

I never said I was using flip over laptop or tablet. Its a PC with a separate monitor. My screen has not ever flipped like this before with any other application. Not at all for the 30 years I have been using PC's.

You never told us anything about the hardware you used, only about flipping. If it's a PC I refer you to my first paragraph

and remind you that both Maxim and pmcmull have pointed you to the most likely cause, which is a problem with the GPU driver.
Depending on your settings you, your cat, your subconsciousness may have hit the "right" keys without you noticing it, as pmcmull explained to you. This can happen on day one or day eleven thousand.

So the screen turned 180° and you kept playing... I'm just trying to picture this... and later - how long did you kept playing like this? - you purchased a business within a city and the screen switched back to normal...

In November you've claimed another "bug" and both, Maxim and pmcmull, among others, tried to help you, but went silent after you were asked for a savegame.

People are here to help, but you also need to offer something other than just a statement which sounds, well, I've heard many things in over fourty years :)

There are a few physical solutions I can think of how to replicate this, but since it MUST BE the game, it's your turn ;)
