All gold in Automobile scenario?
Tried this for some time and I can't get all gold because of the "deliver 30 steel to towns".

The steel factory needs to be placed or you need to wait for a random spawn.
There is 1 factory that takes steel when the game starts, the car factory, but it needs gasoline which there isnt one in the map so again or place it or wait for a random spawn.
The oil for the gasoline is super far from the towns with a open slot, it takes over 400.000 to build 1 way track.
You start with 800.000 and have 18 months to get the gold.

Thats just insane, you make so little money, can barelly connect 4 towns to run some trains and need to build so much expensive stuff.

I tried to go straight for the oil line, to expensive, can't double track which means the gasoline factory (that I build) starves.
Tried to wait for random spawns to save money, it takes to long and sometimes spawn in the worst place possible that makes the line cost even more.
Tried to build a toy factory (takes steel and wood), only 1 city has demand for toys which is not enough to get the gold in time.

Anyone has a strategy for this? The best I managed to do was 6 months after the gold time (January 1912 I think).

If I remember, use passenger trains for income until you can demolish factories to place them in a more logical sequence.

Also, if you have a choice of character at the start, choose one with benefits you like.

Double tracking would most likely be pointless because it would not supply enough to support that many trains.

Create some passenger/mail routes and supply some other goods.
Also keep in mind you can take out a loan.

It has been a few years since I have done that scenaario, so I will take a look at it and give it go and see what else I can advise.

I finished the scenario with all gold except the steel delivery, its not like im struggling with it. I just want to get all gold because I did for all the other base game scenarios.

The linked video does far worse than I did, it finishes the steel delivery on March 1913 which over one year later than I said in my original post.

The oil line to the closest city where you can build the gasoline factory can support 6 trains because of how far it is.

I know about loans, give me a bit of credit here xD

You can force the game to add a Steel industry in Rochester and start shipping Steel to a Warehouse near Chicago or you'll fail the 30 Steel transport due to lack of demand. The same way you'll force the game to add Refineries to St. Louis. Since you've managed the rest I'll stop at this point.

There may be other ways to deal with the tasks but that's how I approached it and ended up with all golden tasks.

Shipping to warehouse doesnt count for the objective anymore, I know it did before since I watched Adekyn video and thats how he completed it.

You need to get car/toy factories going and shipping the end product out thats why is so expensive to set up.

I did get a steel factory to spawn in Rochester a bunch of times. No luck with anything in St.Louis.

In that case don't connect the Steel Warehouse to Chicago, just use it to generate demand so enough Steel will be produced before you'll deliver it in time to Chicago directly.

There is a technical difference between taking Goods out of a Warehouse and unloading a train at a Station. But there is no difference to my knowledge between where you've loaded Goods as you're getting payed the security guard bonus on delivery whether the Goods were loaded at a rural site, a city or a Warehouse.
Let us know about your results.

Try the first part of this: https://steamcommunity.com/app/503940/discussions/6/1642052612835656270/?tscn=1573641689#c1638676181984954696

This was some time ago, but I don't believe later patches have upset the factory build order. If you bond up you can of course build your own critical industries as the alternative.

Here's a strategy that definitely works. It incorporates elements from all the advice you have already been given in this thread. https://youtu.be/uKUBHeMTGCk
