Great Britain & Ireland DLC Out Now for Railway Empire
Hit rail simulation’s Euro tour begins with huge map expansion plus new trains, goods and scenario

After laying down thousands of miles of tracks in North and South America, Kalypso Media is letting tycoons loose across Europe, starting today with the launch of the Great Britain & Ireland DLC for Railway Empire.

In Great Britain & Ireland, players will travel to the home of the first steam engines in an age of unprecedented progress and technological innovation. Industrial city centres are booming and the streets and waters are no longer enough to keep up with the ever-changing landscape of commerce. Locomotives are the future but not everyone sees it that way, and you’ll have build respect and social standing as you battle rival companies to the top.

The new DLC includes the ‘Great Britain & Ireland’ map expansion for Free Game and Sandbox modes, and tasks players with a new scenario. New music tracks and reworked city buildings are accompanied by 10 new historical engines (including the Rocket 0-2-2 and Firefly 0-2-0, 13 new tradeable goods like cider and whisky, and 45 new cities to explore.

Check out the launch trailer for Great Britain & Ireland below:

The release of Great Britain & Ireland also coincides with the release of the 1.7 ‘Stock Market’ update for Railway Empire on all formats.
Full changelog can be found here:

The update introduces new platform customizations, with stations and warehouses receiving upgradeable signal stations that give trains the option of which platform to stop at.
Trains will automatically choose the platform that is least busy, reducing idle time while other trains are being serviced.
The ‘Analyst’ has also been added to the staff, who will cause mayhem on the stock market by placing false reports to manipulate the value of companies! Acquiring a company has also been smoothed over, with players now able to own 100% of a company without having to follow through with a full merger.

Features von Railway Empire: Great Britain & Ireland
  • Neues Szenario: Transportrevolution (1830 - 1850)
  • 13 neue Waren (u.a.

I haven't got the DLC yet but there are some major flaws I can see just from the images and ad video.

1. England didn't use wood trestle bridges.
2. We don't have golden eagles in the uk.
3. The buidling don't look british.
4. If you are going to add castles at least make them look believable.
5. Music in the video is not British.

I am guessing the money system is still in dollars and the characters are all americanized as well.

One saving grace is the locomotives look good(from what I can see)

Maybe the devs should fix at least the currency to pounds and newspaper articles (British or at least European topics, like "Queen Victoria announces this and that" as a hotfix. This should not be to hard...

Hey guys,

Thank you for your feedback, it is much appreciated!
We hear you and we will see if we can patch some more immersion into the DLC asap, based on your thoughts. :)

It's called Londonderry, not "Derry"

Top 15 things to fix to make the DLC more British & Irish:

6. Remove the large bushes in fields and add fences and stone walls - by the 1800s almost all land had been enclosed starting with the Inclosure Act of 1773. Fields were generally cultivated unless out on the moors and mountains.

8. Give all towns a church. And a pub. And a village idiot. And my mum.

9. Add hamlets and farms and small roads. Don't worry about crossings - just have the rails go over them like the fields.

11. Add some wild animals - and NO, not the US buffalo herds, but perhaps deer? A few cows and sheep in (enclosed!) fields.

15. Add some seagulls.

6, 9, 11, 15 - you missed few much more important things - hedgerows and sparrows in the hedgerows , flies on the cows and so on
8 - do you wish yourself in ewery town?

what are you smoking?

Well that is completely and utterly wrong, so I'm assuming you meant Bald Eagles.
Golden Eagles are found in Scotland.

I think the miss use Of Ireland is poor.. First thing we use Euro not Pound, Ireland has nothing to do with Britain. to make a DLC with both is hard might need to re think the DLC

Every game has a lot of funny things. Now I started to play Civilization 6 - there are USA, Brazilian, Australian (not aboriginal) etc civilizations, you could set them to start in stone age....
Isn't funny?

My only complaint is with the American locomotives in this DLC and future ones. Britain invented the steam locomotive. They had hundreds if not thousands of their own unique designs.

Same with Germany and France when they come up.

@scott7891:

Each of the European DLCs comes with 10 different European engines, if you own all three in the end, you will have 30 new, all European engines on each European map.
Those engines require a lot of effort, each one takes an artist up to a month with blocking him from any other tasks, therefore we can't not just offer an unlimited amount, unfortunatly.
