predefined/random Company names

Not a biggie just something silly:

I Changed the Company name for the industrialist for one of my games.

Yet I see that name is “stuck” for other new games for that character (unless i change it again manualy off course), while I see the others have predefined company names according to the context of the scenario/map.

Is there a way to have access to those predefined names again? Or it is lost since I changed manually?

Hi there,I see that too, you can check his proper name and company name when is controlled by AI (Railmaker Ltd for the industrialist playing in America), so it is possible to change it manually to the original one. Otherwise, if there is a way to reset, I have no idea.

But I think i had seen in the free and scenarios from the DLC companies also have names that sound Scandinavian, German and the such.

I managed to get mine all random again by deleting some entries in settings.dat

This should be found here:
...\steam\userdata\[USERID]\503940\remote\settings

Any text editor should work.

Look in the [Playersettings] section. I just deleted the whole lines. Then saved the file.

Now all are defaults and the DLC ones show up correctly.
