Rocky Mountain Mining Not Giving Credit for Iron Production
I just lost this Free Mode scenario (1910 Rocky Mountain Mining) because the AI would not credit my Iron production. The number wouldn't jump up from 2 per week to the required 10. I had fulfilled all other requirements and noticed rather quickly there was probably a flaw in the programming related to this Iron thing but decided to ride it out anyways and just jumped up my Iron production to a ridiculous level. I had five or six train stations surrounding every Iron deposit on the map, had warehouses humming and had over 300 locomotives on Iron allone and still lost when 1922 rolled over. I was pumping Iron non-stop into the the two Raw Materials Warehouses in Elko and Cheyenne. It was absurd and crazy. And it sucks. The more hours I put into this game, the more programming flaws I find. You'll find out a flaw won't let you win after spending 10 hours on it.

There was something else weird about this scenario. Car Manufacturer unlocked before Steel Mill. You never know from scenario to scenario what buildings will unlock in what order. It's not constant. In one 1910 Scenario I played, I think it was the South, Car Manufacturer never unlocked! I had two of every building and it was late in the scenario and still couldn't make cars.

Should have mentioned that Car Manufacturer unlocked, but Steel Mill never unlocked in this Scenario.

Do you own the steel mills making the iron? I have found that sometimes when I get these per week production tasks that I'll need more than one factory producing the required item. Don't forget you'll need to haul it off too so the factories will keep working, if there is a stockpile they will shut down.

Steel Mills wouldn't unlock for me in this scenario. Car Manufacturer unlocked, but Steel Mill would not. Every other building would unlock. The scenario instructions didn't mention steel, only Iron. Was that the problem here? They said "Iron" when they should have said "Steel" in the Scenario instructions? It wouldn't matter anyways. The AI wouldn't let me build a Steel Mill.

I too had this issue however i resolved it by buying the iron mines. All of the ones i had trains running to. Hope this helps.

Big Gun Inc is right. It says produce Iron, so you have to buy the iron mines. Simply transporting the iron isn't going to be enough, and Steel production doesn't matter to that objective.
