How to choose what track a train should use?

I've built side by side tracks from Buffalo to Cincinatti. I've got one train running on one of the tracks and so I buy another train and set the same stations, but I can't see any way of selecting which track it's going to run on, and the game insists on putting it on the track that already has a train running on it so it never goes anywhere.

How do I choose which track the new train will run on?

Easiest way is to specify which station platform to use. This can be found in Setup Route -> Edit Station. That's the pen/ledger shown for each station on the left. Click on one of the track icons. It will be highlighted. Also, you can see the path the train will take in orange while in "Setup Route" mode. Tip: A shortcut to use when setting up the route initially is to hold Shift when adding your last station. You can move between stations with the provided arrows.

If for some reason you are having both lines terminate at the same station platform, you will need to use waypoints. These are easy. In Setup Route mode, just click on any piece of track to add it as a waypoint. There is one caveat, the route must already contain 2 stations before we can place a waypoint. There are two ways around this:
1. Add the first station twice, then add the waypoint. Now delete the duplicate entry. Don't forget that if the train returns on the same path you need a second waypoint for the return journey.
2. Add the stations normally, then add two waypoints. Move one between the stations with the arrows.
