How does Trisha's auction discount work?
It seems that every time I finish an auction, I pay the exact amount that I bid. That itself makes sense. I bid 30k on some tech, then I pay 30k. But it's the same as with every other corporation. So where is the 20% discount?

Same when buying industry and such. I can't see the difference when playing Trish from any other.

I was playing Trish today and wondered this as well. I didn't notice anything different from any other character I've played. Techs were still increments of 10k, no discounts or anything happening. I did get the % off locomotives which helped quite a bit, so at least that part is WAD.

Also noticed that the retro auction skill, science pick, whatever you call it doesn't seem to do anything. I may have missed something, but it's not like you get a window that says "here's your rebate/refund amount".

Hope we get some official accounting to know what's happening with it all.

Cheers..!

You have some Innovations and Employees ( in the main office plus Mediator(s)) that can lower your cash spent for winning an auction. If your winning bid was $1 million, you have to have $1 million CASH on hand to make it, but after the auction is over, if you have a 20% discount you will end up PAYING $800,000.

Watch for Mediators, if you pay over $200,000 to HIRE the Mediator, who reduces your NEXT successful auction by 25%, then you better be planning to bid on something worth at least $800,000 to at least break even. So if you hire a Mediator, do NOT bid on a little $ 40,000 acquire an Innovation auction after you hire her. Use an Mediator on auctions with minimum bids of well over $ 1 Million. The problem is that she gets used on the NEXT successful auction by you, so do not Hire her unless you are ready (have a lot of cash) to use her soon.

The special single use employees are all horribly overpriced. The actual Train employees, and generally Office employees are pretty good deals.

As far as i can tell your bid as Trisha is already discounted, so yes you pay the price what is shown, but it's already lowered

The only thing high priced Mediators are good for is bidding on high priced items, like a clothing factory at $ 1.6 million, but you have to have the available cash to hire the Mediator and make a bid fot a high priced item. how often do you have $ 1.5 to over 2.0 million in CASH (or MORE) available at one time?

Plus hiring the Mediator effectively cuts you off from bidding on lower price items that happen to be put on auction. Are you going to waste an over $200 k (hiring cost) Mediator in order to bid on a $ 30,000 or $ 40,000 Innovation that gets put on auction and get to save $10,000?

Mediators and employess work fine, the post was about Trish.

If her discounts are "counted" already, I want to see the information. As it is, she doesn't play any different from other players aside from the obvious Engine discounts. In all honesty, I'd like the game to display all the discounts of all the different characters in the appropriate bubbles so I can see what's happening. Minor pet peeve of mine when things happen by magic under the hood...

Cheers..!

It's not already discounted. The bids on technology are always in 10k increments, Trisha or not. And you end up paying exactly what you bid.

Did Y'all even read and listen when selecting her? Or did you just look at her?

Her text:
"When it comes to the charming Tricia Jones, rules and accepted business practices are always up for debate. Contracts are renegotiated in the blink of an eye, and any annoying clauses or terms simply dismissed with a smile. Even hardened businessmen frequently have to admit they have been ripped off. Oh... And she loves auctions!

Bonus! Receives a 20% discount on all locomotives and auctions."

She actually says:
"I always tell the truth, even when I'm lying."
"We'll just wrap them all around our little finger."
"I pity those poor unsuspecting souls, they won't even realize that we've ripped them off."
"I certainly won't disappoint you. Care to take a bet on it?"
"Well, do we need a bit more thinking time?"

You can't be mad at a raccoon when he steals your stuff. He told you he would by wearing a bandit mask.

Did Y'all read the posts or did you just want to gush about the new ex girlfriend..?B)

I could go all kinds of wrong saying I like playing with her, she's quite handy.
I really like the engine discounts, quite helpful. Gotten me out of many a pinch.

I just want to see the Auction report whenever we buy something.
ATM I think she's duping me too, which is sad cuz we're supposed to be an "us"...

Dang Trisha, you cold.

Cheers..!

Which was my point. Sorry, the internets screw up my already less than brilliant comic timing.
Next time I'll hold the wry.

This looks like a bug.
