I made my line run right through the gap in the mountains to the left of cheyenne and nearly straight to rock Springs and that works.
same.
i allso made small stations on the resource points and connected them to the line since it is on the same path.
then i bought an express train, set the load type to express and ony 2 line points, cheyenne-rock springs.
let me check.
Thanks.
BUT: In the beta this was not required it seems it is tweaked to make it harder.
must have wasted about 3 hours trying to get it to work. I have a save-game if it's any use.
any other suggestions?
Do you have a reason to believe that about the train line distance vs. the horse and carriage route? I recall reading that people will take the *fastest* route to their destination.
That may include mixing rail and wagon travel, or taking transfers to a different train at intermediate cities. The goals tend to require DIRECT transport of passengers from one city to the other with ZERO SCHEDULED stops in between. (Apparently waypoints are counted as scheduled stops for this purpose, so you can't use them toward those goals.)
