Consumible items
We're currently working on adding consumible items that can be found on the scenario, just like batteries.

These items can be carried (you can only carry one item) and used later. It takes time to use items (around 6 seconds) where you are vulnerable, but they have powerful benefits.

These are the ones we have thought of so far:

  • Bait: Messes up the monster compass just like the Decoy does with the investigators. Can be dismantled by the monster.
  • Medkit: Recover health (so you need to be grabbed once more)
  • Trasmitter: The nearest tape is highlighted for some time.
  • Incense: The monster is highlighted for some time.
  • Painkillers: Sanity is recovered (as well as Maximum Sanity, which is usually decresed over time) and Bravery is boosted for some time.

If you have some interesting ideas for more items, please do share :)

Regards,

I like the idea. But i am concerned when it would make the game more easier for investigators. but only time can tell. if they carrie this items and use it. during the use. is the flashlight disabled? i mean how can they use the flashlight while they heal etc.

Also is there any items similar like the flashlight for creatures in planning? To give them a slight advantage too.

just wondering if you will be having such items for the creatures or not? (i dont mind if you wont add anything for creature though)

Though maybe an item for the investigators that increase there stealth for a little bit?

I want items for the creature. or something to also gain some advantage. investigators have their stats but with flashlights this can change and more items during a map is nice but if the creature has nothing than his stats this is a huge advantage for the investigators.

well i was think if monster was to have items. it would be like little things of floating mist / Essence that would slight boost either monster cooldown speed or enhance its range

I wish for some items for creature that can be unlooked to wear giving them a boost. Well devs said it could be possible that skins of creatures/investigators could affect certain stats. Hope people not choose the same skins just for certain stats. i like the looks of all creatures.

No consumible items for creature planned. The new consumibles are to increase the number of investigator skills (so it's not just Compass and Light stick), creatures have plenty of powers so no need for them.

The number of items spawned will be very limited and they take time to be picked up/used, so while useful, I don't think they will present a huge advantage (after all, lately the odds have been changing in the creature's favor).

On Monster selectable items (equivalent to investigators' flashlights): Maybe, but not for now.

Alright thanks for the information. I agree that consumible items for the creature are not needed but selectable items can be nice. Glad that they could be possible added. But right now i want to see how the consumible items for investigators will be. nice that it's limited

IMO, monsters have it easy already and do not need buffs. I like the consumable idea as long as you have to loot them in the level and not have them right at the start before a match. Monsters now have it way easy with the sigil system since when they are active they can see investigators full time. I would like to see more monsters and more maps. Maps being the main issue. An abandoned meat plant, a deserted resort in the snow, or a rundown small town in a swamp setting. Just my opinion, but I really like this game and it is very fun to play with friends.

Na i think they still need some kind of advantage for certain stats.

Nally had the idea for a "Tome of Cthulu" that would make the investigator using it shout and instant banish the monster if it was within a certain range. Maybe rename it to "Bible" though, Cthulu sounds sinister. Could be cool though.
EDIT: Also, are the items going to be map based? AKA are Medkits going to be more common in the hospital or something like that?

This would be a great idea if you managed to make games last longer than 7-13 minutes now, like before. Because opening radar/knowing the map and rushing without getting killed is sort of easy.

Well, good job. You're one of the very few playing against bad monsters it seems, because the stats tell a different story when the monster win rate is much higher than the investigators.

who said i was vs bad monsters?
