Same for me. It would be fun though to play the multiplayer, but I think that the majority did like Black Phoenix said.

Yeah same with the COOP

Multiplayer was "tacked on", by insistance of 2K (the Publisher), even though the Developers of the main game (Yager) didn't want it at all.
More about that here:

Kris, ur not the only one who is having a problem with the MP. I've tried many times. but it seems (for me) that there is no-one playing multiplayer. I hope there will be a solution. I paid for it and I want to play it...

Its cheap tacked on ♥♥♥♥ like this that makes me lose faith in humanity. I both pity and resent the company that worked on this half baked multiplayer. It should have either been left out and saved them and us money on it, or spent more money on so it actually worked.

Anyway i'll be making a "mutiny" (team deathmatch) match for about an hour or so. Good lucky trying to find me. Maybe send me a friend invite, but i'll probably be temp afk drinking and filled with regret..

I don't know how you thought about playing multiplayer after that campaign. I think I'm done with shooters for a good long time.

So it's not about people not playing.

Edit: I'm not interested in playing the multiplayer, please don't add me!

Like most of the shallow gameplay, it just served to present the husk of a CoD clone to bait people and have them experience a campaign that's disgusted by its characters, its genre and target audience/players.
That was the whole idea.

The game is fully functional, multiplayer simply is, especially when it comes to FPS, a short-lived affair if you don't count the classics like StarCraft or CS1.6. No way to fix that.

Too many games out with multiplayer so hard to have heaps of players on unless it is real good and others have been out longer with heaps of DLC very hard to match with the Main 2 titles getting all the attention these days.

I've played the multiplayer a bit and like that it's really different from the BIG shooters (COD and BF). Not perfect and certainly not going to replace the other shooters, but some of the things that give it a whole different feel are:

- random sandstorms (like a whole map smokescreen, perfect for rushing well defended points)
- destructible terrain (fill areas suddenly with sand, or shoot out the brakes in an elevator)
- cover based system
- zip-lines
- apocalyptic style maps with impressive coloring and lighting that don't look like other shooter's maps.

On the other hand, the controls are different than other shooters and do take a bit to get used to. The running and different feel to aiming may put some people off.

I would definitely suggest trying it though, as you may really enjoy the difference. We certainly could use more players!
