Here's a trick which worked out for me: right after the helicopter attack scene ends and you get up from the ground, don't sprint right away - run at your normal speed for 2-4 seconds, and then start sprinting. Helped me do it in a single attempt.
Post results.
If you're an Nvidia user, go to your Nvidia control panel, and change the Vsync setting for the specopstheline.exe to "Adaptive (half refresh rate)". See if it makes the helicopter run easier for you. If it does - then we'll have something to work with. Posting any results will be appreciated.
This might seem weird, but earlier helicopter have been killing me at 1/3 of the way, and after applying the setting it took me one attempt without any nonsense to reach the escape route. My guess is that it has something to do with target FPS being 30 for the Xbox 360 and PS3, and the helicopter raining way more hell on higher FPS values, but that's just it - a guess that fits with no actual proof.
I couldn't figure out what it was on my first playthrough (Compat OP), but then it was a cakewalk. I got it on my first try on Suicide Mission.
