Pretty much this.
Just remember when you finish it, that this entire game can be easily branded with your generic "Based On True Story" label because there are surely hell a lot of Martin Walkers out there on Iraq and stuff. I think that aspect was the one made Spec-Ops The Line so amazing, yet so depressing.
Don't feel bad, reflect and understand what this game allowed you to feel. The reason it feels bad is because more and more people are becoming disconnected from what war and violence actually mean. It is not a game, it is not a movie, and it most certainly isn't a power-fantasy.
It sucks... just take my word (for whatever that is worth to you) on that point. It just sucks.
