I'll probably return to finish it eventually but there's little motivation to do so. Most of it comes down to the game-play just not being all that good, it's not a secret though as anyone who likes Spec ops: the line will more than likely agree that the game-play isn't great.
nothing more
The whole business is too repeating and simplistic.
The story is overwrought cliche'd nonsense. The story is what a 16 year old thinks is "deep." "Hurrr you're the monster all along!" Wow.
let it die in peace smh
source?
For the helicopter segment you want a small weapon such as a deagle or UMP as you run faster with those. Anything large will hold you to the mercy of RNG. With the right weapon this section isn't that bad.
The underground parking juggernaut requires grenades to damage and open a damage phase. A 417 helps with getting rid of the regular soldiers before he gets too close. Ordering your team to shoot him also helps a lot as they can throw grenades. If you could not clear the enemies in time ordering them to shoot the juggernaut might not be a good idea as enemies will close in and shoot you, while your team is distracted.
As a general rule you want to save grenades for juggernauts, or turret implacements.
Enemies tend to only throw grenades if they get in close and are allowed to linger there for a bit. Sometimes they will lob them from afar regardless of time, especially in the C4 bundle room early in the game. Having a plan to swap to nearby cover in the event of grenade will save you a headache.
Peaking out from behind cover comes at the risk of dying instantly to a headshot. This is unavoidable but rare. Even shooting or throwing a grenade over cover without peeking can get you killed. It's best to wait for full health before throwing to minimize the chance of death.
The friendly AI on the other hand is bad for all the reasons you pointed out. You can somewhat control their movements by going near where you want them to go before an encounter starts. It's difficult to explain, but for example after the white phosphorus use at the Gate if you use the jeep as cover on the right side your team will mostly use concrete barriers for cover. They will still eventually run ahead and get downed however.
Not saying "hur dur it's easy", it's not, but some situations can be made less of a headache with a different approach.
