no audio on my oled steam deck, crashes too
I understand it isn't officially verified but I read somewhere posted in 2022 it worked on the deck. No sound in the start-up videos, menu or in-game. Also seems to "crash" when I close the game, a bug report screen pops up that won't upload and I have to manually hit cancel on the touchscreen to get rid of it. Perhaps exiting the game via the steam user interface is necessary instead

Any help would be appreciated! :kimsarc:

Ran the game with Proton 8.0-5 on my LCD deck a few days ago, no sound in the startup videos, but menu and the pre-rendered video after the opening helicopter section were fine. Played smoothly in the half-hour I tested it.

Forcing Proton 8.05 might solve the audio issues, but I can't comment on stability during long sessions.
try install windows 7 on steam deck. idk its possible but this game is not for windows 10

I had the same error. Try enabling proton experimental, it worked for me. Just go on the game properties, go on compatibily and enable whatever option you have there, it will set it as proton e experimental by default. If it doesn't work, try elder versions of proton, alternatively, go on desktop mode [keep the power button pressed] and launch the game, then minimize it, it's possible the game is muted, and unmute it. Hope it helps

I noticed that if you bring your Steam Deck out of sleep mode and the game is still active, there is no sound. You have to close out of the game and restart it to get the sound back. I also get the crash report whenever quiting the game from the in-game menu option, but I just ignore that. The other thing I noticed is that when you first start the game, it attempts for like a minute to see if there are any in-game updates.
