Captain Martin Walker looks rather similar to an anti-war veteran.
Sorry for the excessive writing, just found this interesting and thought I should share this.

The game Spec Ops: The Line is most definently not a Michael Bay action game. I think it is reasonable to say the game is strongly anti-war, after all it took inspiration from Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad.

I found this veteran has a depressing, but interesting story about his time and the military and his actions after his career in the United States Military. I purchased Spec Ops at the near end of 2015. Just a month after purchasing it, I came accross Adam Kokesh's videos and he really changed my perspective on politics, war, government and military as a whole. As I played the game for a 2nd time to beat it on FUBAR difficulty, during cut scenes I kept looking at the similarities to Captain Martin Walker and Iraq War veteran, Adam Kokesh.

facially they look quite similar.

Adam Kokesh was in the United States Marine Corps (USMC), who was deployed to Iraq and was in Fallujah in the year of 2004. His unit was the 3rd Civil Affairs Group, which is tasked with liaison between the military and the Iraqi people. He was rather excited to help rebuild Iraq, but found himself doing the opposite. Along with his unit being attached to infantry throughout the battle of Fallujah in 2004. Mr. Kokesh left the USMC at the rank of Sergeant with PTSD. He partaked in Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW), and the 2nd Winter Soldier ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ymd2KiP-PqY ). Adam Kokesh may be best known for his 20 second video of him maintaining a sense of humor in a fighting hole that has over 5 million views ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QR1jRM4XTyc ). He has a youtube channel ( https://www.youtube.com/user/AdamKokesh ) and is going to run for president in 2020.

Thank you for taking the time to read it!

War is hell. It is an ugly, monsterous, and burning hell. It rears its disgusting head in the mist of conflict between those who are irrational and sensitive, or sometimes, greedy and selfish. From the thoughts it sparks, catches, and before anyone can even consider what they've just done, it's already too late. It burns bright and hot and destroys much of what it touches. It is disgusting and maddening, driving even the strongest, noble men to the darkest depths of insanity.

It is a necessary evil however. A needed hell. Without it, Americans would never have claimed their land as their home, and drove out those who oppressed them. Without it, America would have fallen apart under the tensions of slavery, and it may still have existed there today. They wouldn't have driven back the same oppresors that they had suffered under not even a century before. Without the ugly monster that calls itself War, Nazi Germany would have spread to all of the world, systematically and indiscriminatingly killing men, women, and children, based only on their creed, skin, and bodily features.

In today's world, war has become blinded. It stumbles about. Soliders may be more sophisticated, better equiped and receive superior training than that of their forefathers, but the reason they fight becomes blurrier and more distorted with each passing day. Very much similar to the uneeded war we fought in Vietnam. Then again, everything is clearer in hindsight, as Walker dreadfully found out.

War, for as horrific and revolting as it is, is sometimes needed by this world. It requires soliders, and brave men and women, champions among humanity, go above and beyond for what they believe is just. Even if it costs them their life, sanity, or both.

Holy hell I'm getting a moment of clarity and I just realized what I wrote. It's really good, but jesus i got poetic. Sorry if this is an eyesore. It's 2 AM and I'm half drunk, floating from one steam discussion board to the next. Sorry.

War isn't inherently evil. It has its uses. USA was founded on war.

Having said that I agree there are similarities, but you might be pushing it if you were trying to argue it's more than coincidental.
