Turn speed up to max
Select acrobatics
Pick literally any spot where the hero can walk (it won't matter because you won't actually be moving from your spot)
Hold down the enter key
Just be careful on the entrance to the swamp screen - trying to jump far enough with enough skill to do so can crash the game. Fortunately, that's also a screen where the game will autosave upon entering.
It was just considered a part of your agility score if you were a Thief before then.
I wish Acrobatics was more interesting in the 5th game - all it does is serve as a check for tightrope walks, and giving you a visually fancy kick occasionally when fighting unarmed.
(incidentally, in QFG5, the best way to train Acrobatics is, basically, shadowboxing with no weapon equipped.)
It very much does still exist. :)

After some messing around it seems that the room with the obelisk and goo where you get the bonsai bush is a fairly good place to train acrobatics by jumping back and forth between the ledges near the top right of the room. The stamina consumed appeared to be very little.
To make use of the import glitch just import your character, put all the points into acrobatics and then cancel, then if you import your character again, or even a different character those points you invested in acrobatics will still be there. Using this bug I was able to start the game with 300 acrobatics, (could have gone for 400, but that would have been pushing it).
